May mangilan2 din nga po kong nabasa na complaints dun sa 2012focus regarding dun sa myford touch. Hndi po ba overpriced ung recent focus? 1.1m+ tapos ang simple ng design and wala masyadong laman ung interior compared to other competitors? yun nga lang diesel sya.

Sa maintenance, sympre po parents ko pa po muna ang ggastos. Wala pa naman akong income dahil student pa nga. Pero nkkhiya din naman kpag laging may sira lalo na kung kasing mahal ng focus ung car.

Regarding overpriced, it's not. Sa ganda pa lang ng engine ng Focus, sulit na yung 1.1M mo. It's not about features, it's about performance.

Wala naman akong nadidinig na problems masyado about the Focus TDCi. Halos lahat eh good reviews.

Mahal nga lang maintenance, pero that's about it.

Yung Elantra nagkakaron din naman ng issues eh.

Around 7km/L city driving. Not bad for a 2.0L

Of course you couldn't compare it with the Fiesta, it's a 1.4/1.6L and it's smaller & lighter.

Focus since it's a diesel & Elantra because it's a 1.6L

Mahirap bro yung Cruze. Napakamahal ng diesel variant niyan. Though the engine is good, more powerful than the Focus TDCi's in fact, but the same bad transmission present in the 1.8 is still here which means sluggish acceleration and stupid gear ratios. Then there is the problem of parts supply. Being a Chevrolet, medyo mahirapan ka maghanap ng parts.

The Elantra 1.6A/T is a very nice car. All necessary safety features like 4 wheel discs with ABS/EBD and airbags are there and power is abundant enough, especially considering that you are still quite new to cars. Being a 1.6, fuel efficiency is very good. And since its a gasoline engine, maintenance cost is very minimal as well.

The Focus TDCi is one badass car. You get excellent engine performance and handling, rivaling some of the best in the 2.0L compact sedan bunch. But despite the excellent performance, you get excellent fuel economy which cannot be found in its gasoline powered competitors. Excellent fuel economy na nga mas mura pa ng P10/L ang diesel sa gasoline! Ang laki na ng savings mo niyan lalo na kung malayo ka lagi tumatakbo. Maintenance may be more expensive than most, but it is not too much to be considered unreasonable. For the most part you just shell out more for the extra motor oil. I firmly believe that the gas savings far outweigh the extra maintenance cost. You don't do maintenance a lot, perhaps once every three months or even just twice a year. But with a car with bad gas mileage, you will be dealing with that every time you go to the pump.

the size of the elantra is like the size of those big accords, camry, corona, mazda6 of the 90's. yun tipong mas mahal pa resale value ng corolla vs. corona, or civic vs. accord.

don't get fooled that you're maximizing your money's worth on that car. pag nag-luma yan, tingen ko 5km/liter lang yan sa FC sa laki ng kaha nyan. that car is overweight.

pag nagluma kasi ang tsikot hindi lang engine displacement ang tinigtignan, yun mga hindi napapalitan sa ilalim like bushings, trailers arms etc. it adds to bad FC ratings.

ganyan kasi nangyari sa CRV ko na sobrang luma na, mid 2005-2006, its FC is so bad like 5km/liter, then ni-restore ko lahat sa orginal lahat ng pang-ilalim na palitin, and now it's back to 7-8km/liter. and what more kung sedan ang dali kaya masiraan yan sa pang-ilalim with the kind of road conditions we have today

I agree with bro renzo here. The Montero Sport GLX is a very nice alternative. Price is quite similar and there's loads of space. Eto naman hindi naman malakas uminom since 2.5L diesel siya. Depending on your driving style and traffic conditions, it should give you around 8-9km/L city. Since you mentioned that you live in Tagaytay, the fuel consumption would be even lower. I believe an average of 10-12km/L would be achievable with minimal traffic.

simpleng-simple 3 classes: sedan, mid SUV/AUV, big SUVs. it's all about size and ground clearance.

the only exception to the rule will be the 2-door sportscars like genesis coupe and the likes, this can be associated with the big time BIG SUVs.

so if you're banging your head everyday to choose which is which of the sedans are the best. nagsasayang ka lang ng brain power, coz it won't matter to the masses/MMDA kung ang habol mo ay status quo.

Kung hindi important sayo na may latest design, baka malaki na discounts ngayon since malapit na yung 2013 model. Since nasa tagaytay ka and medyo up and down yung kalye, baka useful sayo yung extra power ng Revgt vs gas sedans.

Regarding sa Elantra, naka-test drive ako nung Mias. I can only compare it sa FD ng ng bro ko. In terms of looks, gusto ko talaga yung Elantra. Sa handling, mas gusto ko yung FD, parang sobrang gaan ng steering ng Elantra. Sa road noise, lamang ng konti yung FD pero very minimal
