what should i look out for ? medyo nalilito ako sa model line up ng starex crdi. not the vgt version ha. un gen 3 lang yata un.
how the ride? malakas ba humatak ang AT? hows the fuel consumption ?

what are the problems i should look out ? and what are the necessary parts to be replaced for a 2nd hand car?

views and opinions will help. im thinking kasi we need a big van for my whole family. from grandparents to grandchildren. mahirap kasi minsan hindi kasya pag sa 5 seater lang or un mga 7 seater na pilit na pilit naman. not including luggages pa.

kung lahat pala kami ... around 10 - 12 persons. and we need space for luggage pa and things for the baby and kids. alam mo naman mga bata, mas marami pa kelangan dalhin na gamit para sa kanila. from sterilizers to diapers to toys to their own waters pa. ang dami!

kaya power and torque is impt too.

Starex grx starts from 2004 - 2007. But there are versions that are not crdi,it is called tci with turbo intercooler with 101 up compared to crdi's with 145 up. Look for low mileage 50k below if you could. As long as the engine and transmission is sound suspension parts are very cheap and easy to repair. Very good comfortable vans, very carlike closest you can get to minivans like Siena or town and country at a very affordable price and diesel power at that.

Google team Hyundai, this auto club is very informative and will help you with your queris on the starex

Grx starex from 2004-2007, but if budget permits kunin mo yung 2006 or 2007, yan yung facelift version na and all wheel disc brakes and abs na. Stay away from the korean imports. Although they are cheap, as the saying goes...you get what you pay for. Mga koreans karamihan burara sa vehicles nila. Baka sakit lang ng ulo abutin mo. The a/t variant malakas humatak, malakas din lumaklak ng diesel. Yung grx crdi a/t ko dati averages 5km/l city driving. Highway around 9-10.
Biggest problem lang siguro is finding a fresh unit.

    what's KDM?

AT variant with 5km/l in city driving is high. pero sa laki ba naman ng van... ayos narin. at least diesel.

Hi sir, we have a starex CRDi late 2007 acquired. (eventually it's my dad's starex)

I can't understand why, eh mga grand chilren lang pasahero almost every day. hatid-sundo lang, and besides it barely goes out of town. Siguro mga once or twice lang in every quarter makakapunta ng probinsiya.

Isa rin sa naging problema namin is very uneven yong tire wear, though corrected it through camber alignment.

About diesel consumption, hahahaha matakaw yong sa amin. I think is roughly around 5-6KM/L city driving. But power wise, talagang ok na ok.

we got a 2006 starex crdi AT. Like what everybody said, this van is notorious sa fuel economy. 5-6 km/l sa city. Ok sya sa long drives. Its a little bit underpowered i think and if you really step on the gas, expect some black smoke to appear. Pero, its a real personnel /troop carrier, and its very comfortable sa passengers. update us bro once you get one.

Starex parin for comfort, pero mas matipid ang hiace, wether old or new

Ok naman ang starex, comfortable ang ride, pero yun lang yung underchasis parts medyo mahina nga daw, yung sa hiace tulad ng old version, matibay ang under parts, matipid din sa FC at maintenance, para sa akin di nman siya under power, kahit 2.4 hindi ka naman mabibitin kahit sa akyatan, kung 12 person sakto yung pang 15 seater hiace, kahit meron pa kayo mga luggage pag out of town

Ganun ba bro?, sabi kasi nung friend ko mas hindi daw matagtag yung super grandia kaysa sa grandia gl, i just took his word for it. For me hindi pa ako nakakasakay sa kahit anong grandia, kahit commuter pa hehehehe, nung mag van purchase ako last year never kong kinonsider ang hiace, nor any other flat nosed van in our market for that matter. Nakasakay na kasi ako sa mga urvans, L300 of yester years and even the hiace grandia (yung j ba tawag dun?

My dad bought one when it first came out nung 1998.

Relatives have both the Grand Starex and the Super Grandia (with the swivelling captain's chairs). While the Grand Starex is stiff over bumps, it's not stomachache stiff. And the Super Grandia is, yes, worse. The extra weight makes it more settled than an unladen Commuter, but it's not very comfortable unless you have a full load of people.
