Dealer after sales service is so-so (just like most local dealerships). But there is tremendous third-party (non-dealer) support for their products (especially the Starex) means finding a mechanic who can work on one and finding inexpensive parts will not be a problem.

when you say so-so, ano yon? di comparable and service nila with, like, honda or toyota, etc? di magaling ang mga techs o di marunong maghandle ng cliente? paano yan pag naburyong ka sa kanilang service di sa labas na lang pupunta, making the waranty practically useless.Originally Posted by OTEP
Almost EVERY dealer's aftersales service is so-so for me. That's why I always go third party. Four hours for an oil change? That won't cut it for me. But in most bigger dealerships, the typical service stop can take half a day with lots of red tape in between. I also don't like not being able to see my vehicle while it's being serviced. And most dealer workshops are off-limits to clients. I'm also not fond of service techs sleeping in my vehicle during their breaks or listening to 101.1 YES FM! at full blast while they work. And since dealerships are also serve as OJT sites for future techs, I don't like it when the students work on my car and have no idea on what they are doing. Reminds me of the time the student tech didn't even know how to open the hood of my former Kia and didn't know how to disassemble the ceiling to rectify a fault.Originally Posted by patbayns
Yes, the warranty is useless to me because I rarely get brand new units. But by local industry standards, Hyundai is not as bad as some 'notorious' Honda and Yota 'stealerships'.

That's a relief to hear... I am getting a Hyundai Tucson and it's nice to hear that they have nince 3rd party support. However, I noted that it's for the Starex. I hope the Tucson will have the same support too.
yah ano nga ba talaga ang hyundai after sales? interested din ako dun sa Tucson CRDi eh
Dami kasi independent importers ng Hyundai before. So after-sales does not reflect well on the brand. Pero if you got your ride from bigger showrooms (like Wheels), I'm sure maganda after-sales nyan.
As previously mentioned in other Hyundai threads, hintayin nyo mag-open yung Hyundai showroom sa C5. They are actually the same group as Bonifacio Motors. One of the bigger and better car shops around. They used to be in Boni-Edsa. They plan to be the official Hyundai service center.
I was happy with the aftersales service i got at Wheels in E. Rodriguez, but we only went there twice as we sold the van soon afterwards (our family didnt need it anymore). This included a service stop and warranty clain on a paint stain that came out on one of the door panels.
those who are planning to get a Tucson I can refer you to Hyundai Pasig, the owner is a very good friend. You can deal with them direct (walang komisyon ito so don't worry) just for tsikot peeps and gusto ko tulungan yung friend ko. actually ninang ko yung may ari![]()
hi does Tucson really good? i rather buy a fortuner if the Tucson service is not good. somebody is selling a brandnew 4x4 fortuner diesel to me! its also came from the casa. the problem is the price is to high!! you can take it on the spot no time for waiting. I want to sell my fortuner gas to buy that one, there will be no problem of selling it. but i really like the sound of the gas engine. if ever i made up my mind anybody interested with the 4x4 fortuner diesel engine silver just PM me.
The service of Hyundai is not that bad by industry standards. I just have a different standard.Originally Posted by letranboy
What I posted happens in almost any dealership. Yes, that includes name brand players like Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, etc.

I'm not sure if you've been through this thread. This is why your post was initially taken as a joke.Originally Posted by letranboy

There is no way I'm saying that Hyundai after sales service is bad, nor is Toyota's service good. I just want to stress that the ride's reliabililty should be of more importance than the after sales service...
I wouldn't be surprised if Hyundai service is better than Toyota's. As OTEP pointed out, Toyota has been known to run stealerships (though I am satisfied with Toyota Makati's after sales service)...
I got a 1999 Starex from Wheels (gray-market unit then) and have been quite satisfied with Wheels after-sales service. After they work, they thoroughly clean your car and engine wash lagi na free-of-charge. The head SA also fore-warns me of possible defects/problems that many Starex owners have encountered which I may encounter in the near future, and discusses with me their recommended solution should I pre-empt the problem or when the tell-tale signs begin to show.
During the past couple of years, I've used HARI/Hyundai Makati-Pasong Tamo Ext. They are also OK.
As boss Otep said, malas ka na lang kung rookie mekaniko ang nagtrabaho sa ride mo tapos walang common sense. I also like to watch when my ride is being fixed.
Often, judgement call yan ng owner since some SAs recommend replacement of things that don't need replacing! You have to let them explain the details and see if they make sense.
I got my Starex TCI from Hyundai Alabang. So far, I am getting good service from them. I agree though with OTEP that half-a-day 'work' for a regular 5,000 km preventive maintenance is just too much. Coupled with the fact that I do not see what they're doing with my vehicle... Well, that's true for other car manufacturers' services anyway...
i dont know if there is such a term, but do they give proof of repair? lahat ba kino cover nila sa warranty (kung may warranty pa).
Try HYUNDAI Makati. Our Starex is from Hyundai Alabang, but we don't have plan to bring it back to them for pms coz of so many bad experience we have w/ them.
We are now a happy costumer of HYUNDAI MAKATI.
