Actually nabasa ko yung Park Facing The Wall. Kaso mahirap lumabas kaya ready to exit yung parking ko.
BTW, anung variant ung LX20?
Not a tucson owner yet but am also leaning towards the GLS (soon). The price diff of the diesel versus the gas is 180T. Unless you are a traveling salesman using your tucson A LOT, di mo mababawi yung premium price you pay for the diesel variant. If you save 500 pesos a week, it will take around 7 years before makakabawi ka dun sa 180T. That means after 7 years of saving 500/week tsaka lang makatipid ka sa diesel and this is not counting the premium price you have to pay for service/pms for the diesel. I work and pay for my own car and mukhang mas practical yung gls at this point. Mas lalong di 'value for money' yun imho. Hope that helps kahit paano. Good luck on your purchase!
Sa maintenance cost, maintenance of the diesel variant is definitely higher than the gas variant. As to the 4x4, if needed, it will engage automatically...or you can engage it manually if you want to, otherwise, you'll run on 4x2 most of the time.
It all boils down to what you want in a car and the budget you are willing to allot...weight your options, and be happy with your decision.![]()
There's nothing wrong in having a Premium variant. Some people just want the ToTL version. Let's face it, you'll be stuck with the car for years to come. Personally, I'd add some more just to erase any of those "masmaganda cguro pagyun mashigh-end model kunin ko" doubts.
I personally feel it's immature to judge a person just because you think this product is not "value for money" when value is relative. Steve Jobs skimps on buying expensive detergent but loves his German-made Braun kitchen applicances. I'm commenting about this because I'm part of those who is privileged enough to be able to have a car in college. However, contrary to what most people think, I paid nearly 40% of it using my own money. I'd daresay I've been working since high school just for it and rewarded myself.
You may do your own computations and all, but in the end, there are people who are willing to spend more and temper their glass windows at their house just to erase those "doubts".
You hit the point john.
Seriously, I don't want to get the Premium variant but I just had no choice kasi yun nalang ang available that time. The budget was just 1.46M (Just exact for the 2.4 GLS 4WD non-Premium) Kaya nga ang hirap mag modify eh.
Now, I'm just proud of what I got. Some say it's being "mayabang", but hell just try to be proud of what you have.
Additional info: The Tucson R-eVGT Premium is worth 1.698M and the Santa Fe R-eVGT GLS 4WD is worth 1.788M, with less features than the Tucson Premium.
Now tell me what's not value for money.
Maintenance cost of diesels are compensated by the price difference between gasoline and diesel petrol. Overall, you 'still' save using diesel engine but not as much contrary to most people think. What most people look for is the diesel's torquey response on the low-RPM range. And since city driving is around 2000-3000RPM, there's alot of "pull" during your everyday driving. Thus, if it's your first time on a diesel car, you'd feel like you have a V6 engine on your hood on your everyday plight to work![]()
Actually I rarely hit 2200RPM in city driving. Even in less than 2000RPM you can really feel the power of the R-eVGT engine.
As long as my maintenance cost is lower than the Subaru, I'm still happy owning the R-eVGT variant.
