cocoy,
Will the 225/70 R15 tires fit on the stock rims of the Starex? Hindi ba sya sumasayad sa fenders pag lumiliko o pag mabilis ang takbo?
How is the handling of the larger diameter tires compared to the stock 205/70 R15 tires?

September 1st, 2007 08:28 PM #1312well im not having any problems with the tires touching the wheel well.the only part it touches is the front strut bar when i turn to the left.. i just think its the turning adjustment that needs to be adjusted, apart from that no problems... i hardly noticed any changes of the handling from the stock tires.. i mean my friend has a starex too. and he has the 205/70 r15 vanpix tires and when i drive his van i dnt feel any different.. the thing is we bought our starex in december 02 and we drove it straight to mindanao.. it had the original tires then, fortunately it made it to mindanao and back with no problems..when we came back and had to replace my tires i changed the sizes to 215/70R15, simple because i wanted to reduce the tire pressure when driving loaded starex..when i finally read more about the vanpix tires i realised it was a good tire.. so when i had to change tires again i decided to get the vanpix tires..but unfortunately they dont have the 215/70 R15.. and i didnt want to downsize back to 205 size so i got the 225.. they do have a 215/65 R 15. which is almost the same size as the stock tires just wider.. so thats my story. heheh... i hope it will help you decide.. like i said my tires have been to mindanao and and back and to baguio and still had no flats.. so i really like the tire. another thing is the 225 size will most likely feel heavier when you first try it,,but the solution i had to that was to put 50 PSi on all tires and it feels really light.. mind you it was only 35PSi when we drove to mindanao......

2x na-postpone, last december saka last may. dahil meron mas importante na inuna.
pero last saturday, nakauwi na din siya!
changed the tyres to bridgestones na agad, same deal that cardo got (5k for the 4 tyres then add 6k for the new bridgestones)
taking her to manaoag tomorrow!
going to raon on thursday to check for dvd/tv sets there. masyado holdup ang 40k system ng hyundai! any good sets you guys can recommend? hanap ko 10 inch ceiling mount with 1 extra 7 inch display for the front passenger. meron kaya nun, or separate buys?

congrats!!!
I got the old model too, the new starex seems so expensive for me at 1.5M and non-crdi daweasy on the gas pedal now. sarap ihataw yan... with the high seat it gives a great view of the road... very tempting to floor it esp with the 360nm(tama?) of torque hehehe
I thought of doing the multimedia upgrade too... pero as I put more thought into it, I think yun stand alone dvd player(+ headphones) na lang kukunin ko for my child. Naisip ko, I would not want to be listening to kiddie shows for the whole duration of the trip
Pede yun 10 inch screen i think if it would be ceiling mounted make sure it does not interfere with the aircon vents. for the front console, i think meron yun AVT brand na dvd video and audio in one din configuration. its considerably affordable than the more popular models from pioneer or alpine.

Congrats on your new van, yebo.
Pag may nakita akong gold Starex na walang plaka bukas sa highway, kakawayan kita ha
Ingat lang sa mga lubak along MacArthur Highway, matindi at marami sila ngayon. Really bad portions are in Paniqui and San Manuel, Tarlac; before entering Carmen, Pangasinan; and in Urdaneta City. Have a safe trip.

A relative of mine in Canada had his Scion FR-S PPF'd and then had it ceramic coated. He says it's...
