great utility car, very spacious. engine is nice! torquey, fast! fast as hell! interior is uber spacious. very comfy suspension, better than my sedan. its soo comfy, cornering and handling is almost non existent hehe steering is ultra soft and compliant. one thing i notice though, the engine is very much alive(and shifts) between 2k to 2.5k. its like its always on sports mode, rev up before shifting. the previous diesel car I had which was an M/T i could upshift 1.4-1.8k rpm.
    Congrats Bro! Good choice!

I just don't like the fuel consumption (and the turbo lag). But hey, with all that power at 2.5K, you could somehow forget how it drinks diesel and enjoy the ride! IMO, it still rides more comfortably and more car-like than the GL Grandia.

I hear Michelin Vanpix is good although I haven't tried it. My Dad has the Bridgestone 8 ply (P4,200/pc), ok din.

And King12, P5K is per tire. You can probably reduce it by another P1.5-2K by trading in the "still like new" stock tires.

Our unit is under 3 years old, so should still be under warranty.

Saang branch ka bro, nag-claim ng warranty for your Starex's fuel neck? TIA.

I plan to write a warranty claim to Hyundai Alabang next week.

Just wanted to share that since the start of the rainy season when potholes started appearing left and right on MacArthur Highway, we have had 3 Dunlop EC201s suffer damage and go flat. They didn't fare much better than the original Hankooks, which suffered the same fate previously.

Maybe the heavy weight of the Starex when it falls into a pothole is just too much for the small (compared to the Sedona's) tires.

I've replaced all the busted tires with Michelin Vanpix tires, and I hope they fare better, being rated as light truck tires.

yup thats the reason i changed to vanpix tires too... plus got the 225/70 R15.. which i really wanted because it gave me peace of mind traveling to mindanao and going through the very bad roads of samar province....so far still no flats...
