Regardless of what we think, they are classified as such.

Was hoping to find more feedback here regarding the Kona since the wife likes it very much, but it seems the owners aren't active here.

The agent we spoke with mentioned that they will be swapping out the current HUs with touchscreen units for their next batch.

I couldn't agree more. Their PMS is just insane. I recently talked to their service advisor and told me that it's really every three months and that they don't offer mineral oil anymore. They only offer fully synthetic oil which costs much and they require to have it changed after three months or after 5,000 km.

...but we were really eyeing for Kona.

This is really insane. I have Hyundais and do PMS every six months with fully synthetic oil just like my previous Honda. So far, I have no problem with warranty claims. I've tried PMS in Quezon Ave, Sucat, Alabang, Las Pinas, West Paranaque, Manila Bay and E Rod.

Had the same dilemma on our Grand Starex. I am not following that 3 mos BS by HARI. Sa Mileage ako sumusunod. Every 5k. So far my warranty is still intact.

That might be until something untoward happens to the engine which by allthings is not related to you sticking with the every 5k interval

Actually 5,000 km interval is safe already. Nung una akong nagka Hyundai, I wrote Hyundai regarding PMS interval. Sa owner's manual kasi except China and Middle East (5,000km or 6 months), for severe usage (stop and go in Metro) 7,500km or 6 months yung interval dapat ng oil change like Kia. Outside Metro nga, kung hindi severe usage, it should be 15,000km or 12 months as stated in the manual.

Their response was "Further, for your PMS, it has to be serviced every 5,000km. as what is stated on your Service Passport". They did not actually specify every 3 months or 6 months in their e-mail.

Ako, at least every 6 months nagpapa PMS. I was able to claim warranty even on the month before the 5-year warranty expired on my 1st Hyundai.

Was that warranty claim engine related?

I'm assuming it's not, as failure to comply with their 3month oci only voids the warranty on the engine but not on the others i.e. suspension, hvac etc.
