February 6th, 2008 10:46 AM #1Saw this car on this week's Fifth Gear. Not bad looking at all, and significantly cheaper than the Focus TDCI. If Hyundai bring this in I think they have themselves quite a competitor.

Personally I think its mechanical sibling, the Kia Cee'd, looks a little better (odd name aside). But the i30 is a looker also.
In Europe/UK, Kia's Cee'd and ProCee'd hatches are pitched as the somewhat sportier versions, while the i30s are marketed as a pseudo-luxury variant.

February 7th, 2008 07:58 PM #6I like the looks better than the focus but I wonder if it handles as well? Personally though, I'm not so into hatches -- sedans and cuvs are more my thing.

February 7th, 2008 08:50 PM #9I perfer the i30's looks over the Cee'd... I don't like the inward crease at the bottom of the door on that car. It looks like you've curbed it, even before you actually do!

Geopolitical reasons, probably, particularly with the uncertainty of a US election coming.
