I dont see a lot of post/threads about this humble car. Since newbie ako, and a 1st time car owner, i want to know more about this dahil ito yung napupusuan kong bilin.

    My considerations are:
    Looks (Headturner kasi talaga to)
Affordability (I checked, Yung GLX ay 513k, GLX + AVN is 530k *One of the cheapest currently out in the market)

I want to know more about:
    Maintenance
    Reliability
    Accessories

I also want to here your Eon Stories. Mas maraming opinyon, mas OK!

So far, from friends and co-workers with the car, it's relatively reliable. And it's very cheap to run.

But at over 500k, you're only 30-40k away from the Celerio, Wigo and Mirage... which have much more power.

Celerio and Mirage are just as economical on the highway, and only slightly less economical in traffic (Mirage 9-11 km/l range, Celerio around 10-12+, Eon, 12-13, in my driving). Wigo, don't know yet about the new one. Previous one was not quite as economical as the others... but new one has VVTI.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I drove one at Clark International Speedway.

Flatout, it couldn't even keep up with an old Rio 4-speed auto set to "cruise".

Lots of fun on the twisty bits, though.

Kung occasional driving from Manila - Pampanga, Manila - Pangasinan with total of 4 people inside, magkakaroon ba ng problema tong si Eon?

yung eon mismo, wala. kahit everyday driving pa.
yung pasahero, baka meron. masikip sa loob, e.

it is not true, that minicars have problems doing long distances.

I own an Eon pero di ko pa nasubukan mag-Baguio.

And also with the Mirage, you could haggle for very good discounts, bali ang dating is halos same nalang sila ng price ng hyundai eon. You could even get the G4 if makakuha ka ng good discount, mas malaki din sa eon yun, and mas powerful pa engine.

Not really fond of the looks ng Eon. Sa mga mini hatch, ang pogi para sakin is yung Picanto and yung Facelifted Wigo followed by the Mirage, but looks are subjective naman, and depende sa tumitingin haha.

And for that price range, I feel like mas madaming ibang better(or slightly better) options.

Officemates at ibang kapitbahay ko naka Eon, mukhang happy naman sila, lagi pa nga sila madaming sakay eh hehe.

Nope. That's about it.

If you can't fit nine people in your Eon, you're simply not a Filipino!

I have to excuse myself for underestimating ang seating capacity ni Eon.

Haha parang sa mga tricycle no Sir, kasya 9 (including driver), isa sa harap ng driver, dalawa sa likod nya, tapos 5 sa loob ng sidecar.

HAHA! i remembered fitting my friend's Eon with 8 people (kasama syang driver) XD
driver tapos isang mejo malaki sa harap. tapos sa likod tatlong nakaupo, tatlong kandong. From Tomas Morato to Brgy Pag Asa (likod ng SM north) at around 1am

by the way, sir Niky, are you the Niky Tamayo of TopgearPH? di nawawala ang pagbabasa sa TGP sa daily routine ko, pagdating sa office yun muna bago emails hahaha!

I was planning to buy an Eon, too. First car, newbie driver.
Still, hirap pa ako i-convince sya.

Brings new meaning to "bonding" time. Hahaha... last time we did that, it was in a 72 Corolla.

To be fair, the Eon still hasn't passed ASEAN NCAP crash testing. If you want to convince your Mother to allow you to buy a small car, Celerio-Mirage-Wigo are all NCAP rated. Mirage still has the best rating of the three (five stars in some markets, with the side airbags), but Celerio is the most economical 1.0 you can buy.

Most economical you can buy for city use, period, is the Alto 0.8... pero if your Mom doesn't like the Eon, no way in hell will she agree to the Alto.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Ok naman ang Eon.

Looks?sporty na simple.Definitely head turner.Maraming body kits kung gusto mo pa iimprove.

Power?not enough kasi 800cc lang naman pero more than enough for everyday driving and occasional out of town trips.Take note, maraming Eon nakakapunta sa Baguio. Power is good at 3rd gear pangovertake mo.

Affordability? I bought my Eon from around 528k SRP down to around 452k if included ang discounts.Marami na din freebies.Yang SRP kasi ng Eon that was the price range before nung imported from India pa ang mga units. Their unit cost went considerably low nung made in PH na pero they can't lower the SRP immediately.Maraming magrereklamo niyan na previous buyers.Pricing strategy was to keep it the same and put in more discounts in negotations.Kaya makakamura ka talaga compared to Wigo.Magiging more than 100k na ang difference if ipasok mo ang discounts.

Parts/Maintenance/Accesories?Naglipana.Eons are made in PH na, kaya no worries sa parts.

Max speed limit is 60kph lumalampas minsan kapag wala talagang kalaban at police and most importantly defensive/responsible driver naman ako.Think of your family first when your driving.Hayaan mo mag-overtake ang iba.Hahahaha.

Efficiency?Sobra.Grabe ang tipid.Mas tipid talaga kapag premium or Blaze gamit mo.Mararamdaman mo rin difference in power.KPL is around 16-18kpl in city (hindi ganun katrapik ang Davao, moderate lang).Hiway driving is around minimum 22kpl.

Space?ang harap ok naman.maliit lang naman ako at wife ko.ang likod, we can fit comfortably 1 90kgs./5'9" man, 75kgs./5'4" lady and 50kgs./5'3" boy.

When I bought this unit third choice ko lang talaga to.My first choice was G4, second was Wigo.Pero nung pinagisipan and niresearch ko ng mabuti,Eon ang pinakasulit and pinakawithin my needs and budget.Sumali ka sa Hyundai Eon Club Philippines FB page.marami kang makukuhang inputs dun.

You will never regret if you will go for Eon.Sulit na man kasi talaga.Pero if you opt for a better spec car at a higher price range, go ahead. Lowest price range na man talaga ang Eon together with Alto.Practical cars ikanga.

I'm glad that there's a thread for this. I'm also considering the Eon price-wise. Income not yet stable and I'm a total noob at driving. I've been hearing a lot of flak from non-Eon users ("disposable car", "flimsy", "underpowered"). They often suggest the Wigo. Pero there's something telling me to get the Eon. Lol.

the eon is a very small car.
try it out for size first, sir, before you entertain dreaming about it in your garage.
    heh heh.

    btw,
the new celerio is a bit cheaper than the wigo.
some folks are a big believer in "made in japan", even if it's only the marquee that was made in japan.

Mine is 2012 model maharaja red. It's a damn reliable car been to Banaue Rice Terraces, Baguio, Pagudpud. PMS cost me 1,150 outside casa (total quartz fully synthetic) pareho ng oil filter ng mitsubishi lancer. Never regret getting this small car.
