According to topgear.com.ph, this little hyundai beast will start roaming our streets like a Santa Claus before Christmas!

Hyundai Asia Resources, distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, has confirmed that the all-new Accent will be launched on December 2.

No less than Hyundai president and chief executive Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, disclosed the information at the sidelines of the Thought Leadership Forum hosted by the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID). Perez-Agudo is the president of AVID, which has 15 members including companies like British United Automobiles (Mini), CATS Motors (Chrysler, Dodge and Mercedes-Benz), Foton Motors, Scandinavian Motors (Volvo).

Hyundai's top executive refused to give more details about the Accent but another source from the company revealed that a gasoline-powered Accent will be unveiled next week. The diesel-fueled Accent will still be sold locally but a new variant will likely follow next year.

The gasoline-fed Accent comes in two variants: a 1.4-liter Mutiport Fuel Injection engine that produces 107hp and a 1.6-liter Gamma GDI engine that churns out 140hp. Both engines are offered with either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.

The Philippine arrival of the Accent comes a month after the car was launched in Korea. This means Filipino motorists get a crack at the Accent ahead of the motorists in Russia and the United States, where the car will be launched in the first quarter of 2011.

Hindi pa napa-planned yung arrival ng Fiesta diesel econetic locally, dito na kagad diesel version ng Accent at 140Hp. Lots of horsepower!

Hyundai is seriously threatening the no.2 position of Mitsubishi by this relentless local invasion.

Though I already have the pics of the Accent. Pero for my eyes only daw sabi ni Shelley

.....wheeew !!! 140 hp for a 1.6 liter engine and a sub-compact at that ; talo pa ang mga 1.8 compact sedans , so mas lamang talaga sa speed at economy dahil mas magaan ang sub-compact:fartysmile1f: .....

Thats a good question, because HARI recently launched the new Sonata here without the GDI engine.
The specs posted by Top Gear Ph, is similar to whats on the press release of Hyundai when the Accent was launched in Korea.

I read that the 2011 Chinese Verna 1.6 and Russian Accent Solaris 1.6 use a non-GDI Gamma 1.6 liter engine.
In the Verna it makes 90kW (122PS), in the Accent Solaris its rated at 123PS.

Hi everyone! Just to clear things out, I would like to correct Top Gear's article regarding the All-new Accent that will be launched next week, December 2.

The gasoline-fed Accent comes in two variants: a 1.4-Liter GL, Gamma CVVT, Mutiport Fuel Injection engine that produces 108hp and 1.6-Liter GLS A/T, Gamma CVVT, Mutiport Fuel Injection engine that churns out 124hp. The 1.4L comes with a 5-Speed Manual transmission and the 1.6L comes with a 4-Speed Automatic with Shiftronic Function.

We are launching the RB (Korean Domestic) version of the All-new Accent. Photos posted on Top Gear Online is the China version. Thanks!
