Heard about the 1.6 last night (wasn't able to go to the launch)... grabe... 808 with leather? Good-bye competition...
Yep. It's cheap.

Sana wag lang taasan ang price ... very competitive na kasi ang pricing nila as of now.

Sayang lang talaga yung rims. Hehehe. 14's lang

I'd rather have leather than rims. Besides... most owners will change out the rims, anyway.

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Is it true the 1.4L Accent does not have power windows and airbags? Sana introductory features lang yun.

At P588K I would expect this not to have any features besides a seatbelt and a power steering... SO PAWIS features po lahat...

hindi din. they;re just replicating the tucson pricing. 988K for the barest tucson
to trick the public's mind that tucson is value for money, pero mga crdi pa din inorder ng public

i'm sure paglabas ng crdi accent, mas mahal pa sa existing ngaun

Hyundai sees sales growing 90% this year on high demand for SUV Tucson
By Ma. Elisa P. Osorio (The Philippine Star) Updated December 04, 2010 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines - Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. expects sales growing by 90 percent this year on the market’s strong demand for its compact (SUV) Tucson.
In an interview with reporters, Hyundai president and chief executive Fe Agudo said that they have already sold 20,000 vehicles so far this year.

Agudo said the 90-percent growth, although impressive, should have been higher if not for the shortage of the Tucson. “We could have grown by 130 percent,” she noted.
Agudo said that they still need to deliver 5,000 units of Tucson. She said that they will be able to serve the back order by first quarter next year. “This situation (shortage of Tucson) is not unique to the Philippines. The shortage is global. Even China and Europe are having supply problems,” Agudo noted.

Given the success of the Tucson, Agudo said they have increased the price by two percent to five percent. Agudo said that the price increase is only proper since the price before was only an introductory price.

Agudo said that Hyundai already has a full line of vehicles except for AUV, pick up and full size SUV. She said they will launch the SUV next year while the pick up will come in 2012.

Last Thursday night, Hyundai has launched Accent, a car that is expected to go head to head with the Toyota Vios. The 1.4 manual of the Accent is priced at P538,000 while the 1.6 automatic is P788,000.

Accent will be sold commercially by next year.
slight OT:
Maglo-launch na rin ng pick-up. Sana AUV na rin..

Maglalabas sila ng full size SUV? Anu naman kaya model name?

Pick-up? Wow! Gugulo na buying public nito

Knowing Hyundai is best in CRDi lalu yung latest 3rd generation "R" Series nila, kapag nakalagay to sa pick-up ganda siguro!

Isn't a mechanical window lift with a mass produced plastic winder/crank still cheaper than a mechanical window lift with a mass produced electric motor?

Power windows

kaka-install ko lang ng replacement taiwan power window sa CRV ko, and i spent 2.8K sa parts. i compared it with the orig one na papagawa ko ngaun sa zaldy's, it's the same motor different manufacturer lang taiwan, while japan ang orig.

as in parang motor lang ng bentilador na pwedeng i-rewind o palitan ng carbon

a week ago, i canvassed sa banawe you universal power window kit for my L300. guess what 3,500 for two windows na?

the notion is like this, why create a factory of people in china to produce mechanical stuff wherein most factories today are producing electronic/semiconductor stuff. a factory that does electronic can accept other jobs, while a factory with old school mechanical stuff can only do limited mechanical stuff bec. there is now less demand.

in time, mag-oovertake na din ang cost and the car manufacturers cannot afford to use the pawis windows as a leverage for people to buy higher end cars with power windows.,

case in point is China cars, lahat ng china cars ngaun all-powered kahit cheap sila. kasi nga they dont have factories anymore for the mechanical ones.

Power windows retain the mechanical parts of a manual winding window.

Basically its the mechanical parts of a manual winding window with the addition of an electric motor (which takes the place of the plastic winder/ hand crank.

Panalo sa color. Too bad they don't offer that color sa pinas.

Please see my previous post regarding specs of 1.4 and 1.6

Sa soft copy of the brochure of accent they gave me, may power windows and mirrors. Optional lang ay power locks
