But must be standard with them, so we really could do very little.

Anyway, I will rib their BM when I see him.... He he he...

(My last purchase with them was a GS TCI AT end of 2009, and I still drive the unit without any issue...)

    No bro.

After the third year, Shell Gas Station na....

My suggestion, have it EGR-blocked as early as possible.... the power band will be better, significantly. Bro.zix888 can help you. Check out the Montero thread....

And, change the meep keep horn... It is so weak.

    Good Aftrernoon po mga bossing!

My family is considering to buy a used TCi GS 12-seater or 15 after we sold our 7-year-old APV due to worst FC. I live in Cebu City, here, In FB Marketplace, I found one, I contacted the owner and the owner arrange the time for me to see the vehicle, it's 2011 TCi, it has 80,000 kilometers on the odo, the interior is in excellent condition, it has sliding last row seats, 3 pairs of AC vents on both sides (1 pair for each row), the first 2 rows have jump seats in the middle, it's a perfect setup for us but it's the price that a quite high for a high mileage vehicle, the TCi costs 588,000 pesos.

I inspected the vehicle and the interior was well taken care of, but it has been re-painted (I saw some paint over-spray along the rocker panels), I saw some leaks on the valve cover and rusted secondary muffler (the oval muffler at the end) no evidence of major front-end damage but it has minor damage because I saw some missing clips for the front bumper attached to inner fender lining. Maybe I will use these as bargaining chips hehehehe

I didn't have the chance to start the vehicle to hear the engine idle and revving it, because the owner left and bought the keys with him and the "houseboy" keeps me company throughout the inspection and I texted the owner to test drive and he agreed but on weekends only and I told him I'll let him know.

Most GS here are CRDis running around in the city but we considering a TCi because I have knowledge of DIY'ing maintenance on our L200 truck which I think it's the same engine on the TCi but the former has no turbo. I think they have the same oil filters, timing belts, valve cover gaskets, belts for balancers and pulleys. The truck is used for our small business and also the truck used for ferrying my nephew and 2 nieces (1 niece to school and the other one is 3 y.o.) and to ferry them to and from my in-laws on weekends and the kids sometimes get sick because the truck's AC is defective and can be really hot inside and i was worried about their health.

my question is; is it the price is right for a 80,000+ GS TCi? After inspecting the vehicle, this is the kind of vehicle we're looking for but the price is quite high for us but the owner accepts thru financing at 1.3% interest per month thru lending. Or move on to look another TCi somewhere else. thanks for the time guys!

We have a dedicated thread for 2008-present starex here in tsikot.

My advice about the EGR. Dont blank it. Do your part for the environment. And besides, the gains are not that significant. Just make sure to make egr cleaning as part of your preventive maintenance regime

My opinion, plant at least 3 trees to replace that action. I did.... They're now as tall as a 2-storey house
    .

And based on at least 5 different TCI owners who had theirs blanked, including my experience, the power band gain is significant (again on the tci; not much on the crdi-vgt). Checkout bro.zix for the cost. It will not cost you an arm and a leg,- worth it IMO.

    Fuel consumption? No gain.

    Your call bro.ReggieMar...

If it is an AT, cost was about P1,400K.

Over 8 years (2019), market value is approx P1,400K*(0.9)^8 = P600K... Do the same math if MT at about P1,300K then

80kkm mileage in 8 years is "underused" as typically 20kkm per year...

Ask for at least another P20K discount.

Buying preowned vehicle is hit and miss. But bring a knowledgeable mechanic, hey that's you bro.

    Trust your instinct Luke...

it's manual transmission TCi pala boss. so, P1,300K * (.9)^8= P559.6 K and not far from the price of the vehicle. Where do did get that formula po boss? (I'm curious). Also, we consider a TCi GS because we rarely go up the mountains unlike most of mga bossings here are doing, but I'm a bit heavy footed driver, but I managed to overtake my 75-horsepower or so NA 4D56's L200 truck on the highways when the opposite vehicle/s is far away from me.

with your opinion about this vehicle is interesting, I would take this under advisement since I was looking at another TCi's with under 600K with fairly low mileage (40-70Kkms). Thank You,boss CVT!

Our group then were mostly TCI units as the equivalent variant of VGT units were P300k more expensive....

Mine is TCI AT (late 2009 model) with 45kkm mileage... TCI AT is 4speed VGT is 5speed...Still loving the drive and the ride....

Yes bro, specially if you're installing the big Bosch Europa horns with relay..... Don't worry, they're experts in doing that.....

Bro, in general, vehicles lose 10% of their market value year after year.... So market value is multiplied by a factor of 90% year after year...

That's just the guidance. Market perception plays a very important part in the vehicle's depreciation....
