Just to share my customer experience.
To say that I am an unsatisfied Hyundai Dasma customer is an understatement.
To say that I am happy with my agent EJ SIBAYAN would be a total LIE.
(screw it if i get raised eyebrows here from some apparently "satisfied" customers of the said agent, i will share this major inconvenience to raise awareness and perhaps save future customers the trouble)
1. Like any future car owner, i have researched every board in tsikot regarding the cars i like - the sonata and the cruze. Altho different segment, tsikot feedback was really my info portal regarding these cars. Upon reading the sonata forum, i've read a reply to a potential customer that said something like, "contact agent ej sibayan of hyundai dasma with this mobile number xxxxx madali yang kausap!"
Although that reply was not intended for me, i contacted ej nevertheless in good faith.
Scenario 1: I texted him and asked if there was an available unit in their dealership. He said there is and i negotiated the price and freebies first before i actually come in and see the dealership myself.
Scene 2: He offered me 30k discount, free tint, matt, ewd. (I thought 30k was the best discount, since otis, erod and macapagal only gave 20k.) As an avid reader, i read another response that EJ gave a past customer a free bosch horn so i tried my luck to ask for him and He agreed. Natuwa ako, so i told him i'm coming by at a certain date and a certain time to talk to him and see the unit. The date and time was set, 11am.
Scene 3: I came all the way from Makati to dasma, and voila, arrived at 11:10 - and he was not there! (I texted him where he was only to get a response that he has "endorsed" me to his Manager, Ralph Garcia. (whom i thought was really charming and easy to talk to, but also screwed it up in the end)
I was a little bothered by him not showing up. Ni-ha ni-ho walang pasabi, until hinanap ko xia. I did not say a word about it, i brushed it off.
Scene 4: Break. I was really just thinking about wether spending twice as much as the cruze to get this premium sonata, which really is my "dream car". I'm 24, and am buying my very first brand new car, and to me this is a major achievement cause i never thought i could afford it. So come days when he kept texting - bragging that if i can have the PO released by the bank, he could release the car the same day, or the next day.
Scene 5: i texted him that i have decided. and that same day, the bank faxed him the P.O. for the car in the morning, that afternoon i also got the insurance from Malayan. Pwede pa sana mahabol that same day, but he advised to release it 2 days after. I asked why not the next day, sabi nya, "sir aayusin ko pa po kasi yung papeles ng kotse nyo, papalinisan rin po natin xia.. bale po ano po bang tint ang gusto nyo?" and we started texting about those details ASSUMING THAT HE WAS REALLY GOING TO WORK ON IT.
Scene 5: come release day, i texted him if i could come earlier (10am), sabi nya hindi dahil magbubukas pa lang daw sila. as scheduled at 11am na lang daw. Nagmamadali ako since I still have to go to my Makati office to release the last payroll of the year to my employees. Pero sige, 11am daw. i came in at exactly 11:15am, AND AS USUAL, Wala nanaman si EJ. I had to wait again kasi galing daw xiang banko. At this time, i really presumed this guy really has no sense of time. Before 12, I offered him the check of my dp so he can do whatever paperwork that needs to be signed, DAHIL AYOKONG ABUTAN NG LUNCHBREAK.
Scene 6: After 30 or so minutes, aba, ngayon pa lang pala nililinis ang kotse. I started to get ticked off, cause i was expecting it would just be a breeze going there, pay, pick up the car, then go.
Uminit na ang ulo ko. i just snapped and nagged him that i was offering him the check the first minutes we met, pero binaliwala niya.
****. The Insurance policy was faxed to him TWICE! first, kulang daw ng word na "premium", so nagpadala ulit ng bago ung malayan.. pero hindi nya nakita yung address!
Sabi ko nevertheless, can you just pls refax the policy according to what they want. 20 minutes later, they have faxed it na.
Scene 10: 3:50pm, i was really getting impatient - with no lunch in my stomach - walang naguupdate, so i approached ej. MERON NA NAMANG PROBLEM! Hindi daw irerelease ang sasakyan dahil two signatories kelangan sa company ko, (me and my treasurer) na nakalagay sa BANK PO (w/c was never sent to me dahil pinadirecho ko na sa dasma) I have good faith with my account officer sa BDO dahil she holds a very high position na, and modesty aside, malakas ang family namin sa banko.
By 4pm, wala pa rin. And that Malayan daw has not confirmed the insurance. WTF?
So i called my contact from bdo to confirm this, and sabi nya, Ok naman daw sa bdo kahit ako lang ang signatory.
My contacts from BDO and Malayan, in two different phonecalls, told me, "sir, wala po kaming kasalanan jan. Maarte lang yang casa na yan, and to be honest, kasalanan yan ng ahente mo. Nasa kanya na po lahat ng papeles, hindi lang xia marunong magbasa dahil ang habol nya lang benta. Every inconvenience you are experiencing right now could have been anticipated if your agent did his homework."
by 5pm, after almost 6 hours, finally nirelease na ang kotse ko. Ralph and EJ could have been more apologetic, pero they seem to "avoid" me and possible confrontation by hiding somewhere and pretending to be busy as hell. In the end, lumabas rin ang totoo. Just before leaving, ej said, "sir pasensya na po kayo. meron po kasing galit sa akin sa loob kaya iniipit ako."
IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A CUSTOMER'S PROBLEM???
(after a while narealize ko. Cause i was waiting right infront of their office window and every agent was coming in and out of that office except EJ. Parang hindi xia makapasok and his colleagues are the ones making asikaso and talking to the ladies involved in the releasing.)
I DONT GIVE A SH*T ABOUT YOUR OFFICE POLITICS. I DO NOT PAY AN ARM AND A LEG TO BE PISSED OFF LIKE THIS.
P*tang*na. I'm 24 years old, buying a car in this magnitude with my own hard earned money, is a lot! I should have relished the moment of this day, until Hyundai Dasma screwed it up. I'm so upset. I could never press rewind to take this day back.
NASIRA ANG MOMENT KO.
Conclusion:
If you are buying a "luxury" vehicle, do yourself a favor, dont order from Hyundai Dasma. Granted they give the best deal, buying a car is not just about the vehicle, it's about the experience. Pinagmamayabang nilang ELITE DEALER sila, there is nothing "ELITE" about their service!
I'm sorry if this post offended the "ej sibayan" fans.
I AM JUST SHARING MY BAD EXPERIENCE AS A CUSTOMER WHO BOUGHT A 1.558M CAR IN GOOD FAITH.
