Based on the manual computation for the FC during the break-in period, 6.3 km/l with EDSA traffic, according to my dad as he is the one always using it. I'm now guessing that its city driving FC is better after the 1000 km PMS, maybe around 6.7-7.0 km/l.

Super satisfied talaga! And btw, I'm seeing more Sonatas on the roads nowadays. I'm predicting that in a few months, maraming Sonata na on the roads of Metro Manila. Maybe it might overtake the Camry and the Accord. But that's only a wild guess of mine.

You're absolutely right Renzo. GDi is not yet proven to be reliable here in the Philippines. Kaya wala pang carmaker ang naglalabas ng GDi engines nila dito kahit meron na sa ibang bansa kasi they are not sure if the GDi engines they have can survive the dirty unleaded fuel that we have. If I were you SG, go for the HARI Sonata. At least they have the Remington Red now, even in the Premium variant.

Slightly OT since were talking about GDI anyway. Nun nilabas ang bioethanol fuel nakita ko sa newspaper may advertisment ang Mitsubishi Motors PH about which of their cars can run with the gas/ethanol mix.

Sabi nila all EFI nila ay compatible EXCEPT GDI. Presumably this is for the imported gas GDI Pajero which makes me wonder how this GDIs are doing with our bioethanol fuel now.

As for the Sonata GDI it would be a certainly welcome addition to have 200hp instead of the standard 178 if it could work well enough in our country.

First time I heard Hyundai having stock JBLs with their units. I know Toyota uses JBLs but not Hyundai. Here in the US, entry levels have Dimension stereos while Limiteds have Infinity audio.

Goodluck on your new ride. I'm liking my Sonata Limited each time I drive it. I feel more content compared to our 2007 Camry SE.

Yeah I like the remington red, pero mas type ko yung brown na KDM. Well wala naman sa akin ang decision. Tucson parin sa akin. Makiki gamit lang ako. Hahaha

Here's the link for E10 gasoline usage here in our country

    http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.ph/biodiesel/

The GDI and Turbo Sonata would really be the best choices in the mid-size sedan if only HARI will bring them here, but I guess Hyundai would never take the risk of numerous recalls if ever the GDI engine won't maximize its full potential due to our poor fuel quality. IMHO.

di naman bitin yun HARI Sonata I'm sure pero syempre 200hp is always welcome. I mean after all halos lahat tayo sanay sa 1.6, 1.3 maski 2.0 pero syempre if your daily driver is a 300hp car maninibago ka at the least. I think the law of diminishing returns applies here. unang auto namin lancer na box type tapos nun nag palit ng VTI na Honda whoa! wow ang lakas pero dumating din yung time nasanay ka na sa 127hp kuha ka naman ng FD 2.0 whoa lakas uli... never ending cycle ata.

i'm sure mas malakas humatak yung tucson being diesel CRDI lalo na on city streets and on rolling starts.

Lalagyan na ng e-10 yan ...

Kasi come to think of it, madami nga features ang kotse mo, masisira lang naman dahil sa lintek na gas ng pilipinas .... wala din.

Nyahahaha.

Blaze or regular unleaded wont matter in a GDI equipped car.

Both of them will provide just the same performance.

Malabo yata na dalhin dito yung 2.0 Turbo na Sonata. GDi din kasi yun. Its unlike the Genesis Coupe's 2.0 Turbo na CVVT din tulad ng 2.4

According to the carchart at motioncars.com the gas versions are direct injection. Also at bmw's philippine website, the gas engines are direct injection.

Well I guess mas ok parin nga yung HARI units. Meron na nga pala kami Loyalty card. Tsaka yung grey market units para walang support from HARI, as in wala.

Straight six-cylinder petrol engines in the BMW 523i, 528i and 535i.

How can you improve an engine that has already won six times at the Engine of the Year Awards? With a Twin Scroll turbocharger, Valvetronic and direct petrol injection for a start.
