2011 Accent AT - Engine Knock!

Thanks for your reply... I'm not sure on the difference between the low power or the fuel knock.. But based on what you said, the latter is somewhat closer on what i have experienced.. If hyundai can not upgrade my ecu anymore, will there be any other remedy? To be honest i'm getting quite disappointed with accent.. Even the fuel consumption.. Sobrang lakas pala sa gas... I'm just getting 7km/L.. Pag traffic 6km/L pa..

You know what? I think what you're describing is my accent, same intermittent delay when sifting from first to second and that loud thud when the second gear kicks in. We even have the same fuel consumption. So cheers, the problems you posted are common among accent a/t's

same with my M/T after euro2 update, even higher (9-12 km/L). supprised with AccentHyu2012 and sir Bratski's (even after euro2 update) fuel consumptions. seems euro2 works better for M/T, hoping it's for long term.

i use 1.4MT, averaging 9-10 km/L, night driving condition. ECU not yet updated, occasional fuel knocks. probably an ECU update be an option for my next PMS. but still satisfied. AccentHyu2012, I suggest you have your ECU updated to Euro2. Huwag yung Euro1 - Euro2, medyo sasablay as per the postings here (back read lang). kung nabasa mo lang lahat ng post ni sir bratski...

I'm actually not surprised with my fuel consumption, considering its a/t and my daily route (which happens to be bumper to bumper), practically no highways, average speed according to the computer is only 11kph.

Hello Guys Im planning to get a BNEW 2012 kia rio but upon testing my chosen unit I heard like a typewriter noise in the engine at idle. took a video and uploaded to youtube.

Sir i dont think yan yun engine knock its just the tappets at startup. I have the 2012 Rio HB and no engine knock so far

Pag malamig pa ang makina may kunting lagitik talga yan, even my 1.8GLS elantra. after few minutes swabe na, tahimik na ang andar.

I hope this helps. :toast: My sister's 2011 1.4L Accent A/T issues were recently solved by a complete replacement of the CVVT system by HARI. She also went through the whole charade of ECU software updates, advice of only using only Shell 97 octane gas, etc... with still the presence of engine knocks, high rpm upshifts, poor engine performance and poor fuel economy. :ill:

With the 2013 1.4 6-speed Accent, kelangan din +95RON or pwede nang lower octane? Pasensya napo page 27 palang ako sa thread nato. lol pero balak ko talagang basahin lahat. :p

Wala ng delay sa acceleration sa euro2 update. Pero may gas station na kinikilingan accent ko. Pag sa petron may very slight knocking parin. Sa shell nitro plus totally eliminated knocking and better response.Yun nga lang napansin ko mas malakas sa gas pag sa shell compared sa Petron. Well i guess you cant have it all.
By the way a/t pala unit ko. Acceleration from standstill is instantaneous. Parang parehas na nung kakabili ko palang.

Matagal na napalitan ng ECU ito and after euro2 update may low power parin sa 1st and 2nd and Nanginginig or nagsstall when shifted to reverse. Grabe more than 2 years na pabalik balik. I will demand a change to the Kappa na if wala paring. I'm guessing this is whuy they decided to change from gamma to kappa na upgrade kuno. How can it be an upgrade when the gamma has more power than the kappa. Galing talaga manloko nitong mga to. btw we also have the 1.4 a/t. Pati alarm nga pala nagloloko. neverending issues with this car. By the way, sa mga hindi nakakaalam, you can have them replace your rear shocks kasi yung stock malambot talaga.

Whenever i shift from 1st to second gear specially pag paakyat and a grudge noise when ng gigigil ako sa gas hehe
I have it checked with hyundai

They have upgraded the ECU and shifted gas to shell nitro racing mahal ung gas pero nwala na yung noise but i shifted to nitro plus para tipid so far ok na

Next schedule on december is for my shocks sa likod pg mabigat sakay ko may ingay tapos pag full tank pa
Papalitan daw good thing warranty covered.

Requested also to replace my break pedal kase magalaw

I have it checked with hyundai
