I have a 2010 Rio and the engine's advertised output is about 94HP but it's not a gamma engine yet. The 2012 version has a Gamma engine with about 109HP. My RIO developed some "sinok" problems that went away when I stopped experimenting on Phoenix Unleaded. I'm now using Shell or Petron unleaded fuels.
Anyway, to all Accent Owners who are experiencing problems, heres hoping you will be given a pemanent solution by Hyundai.
mga sirs, kailan EB ng mga katok engine accent owners? kahapon may nadinig ako na parang engine knock habang nasa slex ako eh. Gusto ko ma-confirm kung tama hinala ko dito. paano ba describe ang engine knock? ito ba yung parang nag da-drive ka ng MT na hindi timplado?
Hi guys! Good news on the knock and low power issues. I dropped by sa dealer kanina to have my doorlocks checked and was able to chat with one of their technicians. Hold na daw lahat ng ECU upgrading kasi they are waiting for the latest (hopefully the last) ECU setup from HARI parating na daw soon. Eto daw ang version specially for the low power concern.

makapagpa check ng door locks ko rin :D well, pag naglock, may "kick" siya tapos unlocked... maka chicka nga yung tech sa dealer ko re: ECU update...
Update lang. After ko mabwisit sa hyundai greenhills kanina dahil hindi naman ako sinabihan na walang papasok na mekaniko, nagbakasakali ako sa hyundai erod pero fully booked sila. Hindi accent ang dala ko this time kasi may problema din yung isang hyundai ride ko.Nakipag chikahan nalang ako sa SA ko dun. Ang sabi niya LAHAT and quote "lahat" ng accent na nirelease dito sa Pinas ay may engine knock, sobrang dami na daw ang pabalik balik sa kanila pero wala daw solution. So sabi ko eh bakit yung mga bagong batch wala ng reported problems? Ying sagot niya tama sa hinala ko.
1. Either hindi pa lumalabas yung knocking sa iba or...
2. May mga owners na hindi naman alam kung ano yung knocking so binabalewala lang ito.
May mga units kasi like mine na as early as 300kms odo palang nag knock na. Yung iba after a few thousand kms pa. But eventually daw "ALL WILL KNOCk" sooner or later. Kasi iisang batch lang naman daw yang ecu natin.
Tsk tsk. Not good. I'm considering Accent sana next year. Sana yung namention ni Boggsy e solution na nga.
Sana nga, ang problema sa hyundai/hari released cars is not about reliability, alam naman nating lahat na not all cars are perfect, may mga masisira dyan pailan ilan....but ang biggest problem nila ay PARTS AVAILABILITY. Hindi lang sa accent but sa entire lineup yata nila, pag may part na nasira it will take weeks to months bago dumating ang pyesa. And that is a big no no lalu na sa mga big companies na tulad nila na dapat na stock ng adequate inventories of crucial parts. When my hyundai rides gets older ibebenta ko na sila and im not buying hyundai ever again. Dahil as far as my experience goes, their after sales service sucks big time.

Dapat ata itong SA ang nakunan ng written or video statement para as evidence na matuloy na yung Lemon Law dito sa Pinas at nang hindi na mabiktima pa, intentionally or not, ng mga manufacturer defects sa mga future brand new car buyers.
Sama-sama na kayong may katok accent owners with your own cars as evidence tapos may back-up ng statement sa nakausap mong SA, eh malamang umusad na yang Lemon Law or at least mabilis maaksyunan mga accent nyo sir.
Kung wala pa ring mangyari eh... alam niyo na siguro ang susunod dito.![]()
Hyundai Alabang yun nakausap ko. He was very confident pag sabi nya sakin ng details. "Ban na ang lahat ng ECU updating kasi may padating na latest version..para sa low power issue..".
Nung pagka reset nila ng ECU ko last month, gumanda response and FC, pero aabangan ko pa din tong upcoming update.
ehehehehe.. I had my 10K PMS the other day with fully synthetic oil used. And as usual, we have few conversations w/ the "Chief" --> Chief Mechanic ng dealer ko. The highlight of our conversation was a dead accent on the road, they have to tow it kasi the engine won't fire up na talaga despite a prestine condition battery, alternator and the rest of the charging system and sufficient amount of gas.
It's a 1.4AT. After few tires of loading a stock ECM Configuration, nagfire up na. The unit is still in the dealer, because they want to know either isolated case lang or maybe a batch of it is affected. Unit was released July 2011 raw....
