dinala ulit as service center ko yung unit ko for ECU update and the performace is better now. Malakas na ulit yung acceleration and the engine knock is completely gone. sana lang for good.

I think Hyundai is testing the right settings for the ECU. Ang problema ginawang guinea pig mga units...
Hopefully makuha na ng hyundai ang right setting for our cars.

was able to talk to hyundai greenhills regarding the issue after the ECU reset. mukang may directives na cla from HARI to address the slow response ng acceleration after the reset. They asked me to bring the unit tomorrow hopefully nakuha na nila ang correct settings.

yup update ako tomorrow. I believe two of our members already had this settings on their ECU and eventually fixed both issues with engine knock and slow acceleration. So i'm really optimistic na they have finally found the correct settings.

Accent ko nasa casa now for the ecu updating, lakas daw talaga ng tope according to my SA, sabi ko nga baka mamaya low engine power at hihina aircon ang kalabasan. Sabi niya hindi naman daw. Sana nga pagkatapos matapos narin problema ko

Hehe sayang din, nilalakihan ko na garage ko to accomodate either santa fe or sorento hehehe. Yung sorento 4x2 disel a/t kapresyo lang pala ng 4x2 diesel santa fe. 5 seater nga lang. Isip isip...
Back to topic, antagal mag antay for the ecu update. Kanina ko pa dinala mga 830 am hanggang ngayon hindi pa tapos.

ECU done.. after having a road test with the mechanic for almost 30mins.. both of us tried it and so far so good. road tested it sa bulubundukin ng san juan.. satisfied naman sa outcome ng hatak after the update. under observation pa rn of course, hoping wala na ssuslpot na kung ano man issues.

Also, I maybe speaking too soon (sana di ko ma bati! ) but so far after driving for 38kms (san juan roadtest, QC to MOA through EDSA moderate to light traffic) my trip meter is now giving me close to what i was expecting when i bought the unit 10.1L/100KM. Hopefully this could be the start of the good times for all Accent owners.

Sounds like good news. Guess they've finally figured it out.

Should have done it sooner if their engine programming guys had come to the Philippines, but it's possible that HARI was able to transmit ECU datalogs to Korea and they were able to make the adjustments there. :tup:

Sana nga happy times na susunod instead of casa times.
Finally after 7 hours nailabas ko na sa casa accent ko, road test ng mga 20 mins. Mukha ngang nawala na yung knock. Acceleration walang nagbago, as well as the coldness of aircon. Sabi nung mechanic wala silang inupgrade na ecu, kasi alam nila na hihina ang hatak, and hindi na nila marereflash uli sa original settings,what they did is yung mga components like pcv,maf nilinis at binago ang settings,as well as yung sa mga exhaust components. Hindi ko na naintindihan yung iba. And i also dont know if those components had anything to do with the knocking. Basta para sakin no knocking and same engine performance masaya na ako. Sana nga maging tuloy tuloy na ito. Ngayon lang ako natuwa sa accent ko since binili ko siya.

Guys, I just talked to my dealer's service advisor about this knocking issue.

Sabi ng service advsior ng dealer ko, HARI has posted service updates for the Accent, with the new ECU Mapping to solve the issue.

Eh kaso, yong dealer ko, they are currently upgrading their system kaya di raw nila ma-accomodate yong pag-reflash ng ECU firmware. Gusto ko rin sana kahit I never experienced it, kasi these are settings from the manufacturer itself, and I believe these are significant updates on the fuel delivery and combustion process..

Though mine never experienced such engine annoyances. Current ODO is 5722Kms..

Yup, good news ito for all Accent owners especially for those that have experienced this first hand.
I'm also up for this ECU update, though my unit did not have this knocking issue, since I am having my 5k PMS next month.

ok, officially, me engine knock din unit ko (1.4AT 19XX odo). napansin namin sya ng wife ko while travelling kanina. I slowed the car to almost a stop then slowly increased speed. at 20kph me konting parang rattling sound (checked the gears and naka 2nd na sya). increasing it slowly to 30kph andun na obvious yung sound. No problems replicating the issue as long as ganun ang procedure.

kaya pala di ko masyado naririnig to is because of my driving style. ngayon alam ko na kung sino mga pagong dito mag drive..hehehehe anyway, back to Hyundai Dasma for that ECU update. Kudos to the first few who involuntarily participated for the testing of the new ECU mapping.

I slowed the car to almost a stop then slowly increased speed. at 20kph me konting parang rattling sound (checked the gears and naka 2nd na sya). increasing it slowly to 30kph andun na obvious yung sound. No problems replicating the issue as long as ganun ang procedure.

kaya pala di ko masyado naririnig to is because of my driving style. ngayon alam ko na kung sino mga pagong dito mag drive..hehehehe anyway, back to Hyundai Dasma for that ECU update. Kudos to the first few who involuntarily participated for the testing of the new ECU mapping.

aw what you told just bothered me dalawa lang kame nang daddy ko na nag dridrive nang accent ko and parehas kameng abunas mag drive HAHA i mean laging high speed and last time nabasa ko din na indi naman lumalabas palagi yung engine knock baka nun nag low speed ako indi ko nadinig kase baka indi ko na tympohan halaaa.

Makapal nga yun booklet sir. hehehe, But anyway we tried the shell unleaded OK siya nung hindi pa na update yung ECU, but after updating nang ECU bumagal ang pagakyat namin sa uphill, tapos cinalibrate uli yun ECU last saturday, medyo bumalik na sa dating hatak but hindi tulad nung unang labas nang car namin, so we decicded i try ang shell v-power sa ibang gas station, hayun lumakas uli ang hatak at mas nagimprove ang hatak. kaya nga lang medyo mahal ang v-power, sinabi ko kay misis na itry niya ang caltex gold kasi alam ko mas mura nang konti iyon kaysa sa v-power. we will give you update kung ano ang magiging performance.

My wife fill up our accent with Caltex silver gasoline for a week, nag OK din ang performance niya at hindi na siya hirap umakyat sa uphill sa tingin ni mrs. mas efficient yun caltex silver kaysa sa shell fuel save unleaded. at compare sa price mas mura ang caltex silver so we decided to fill up our accent with caltex silver from now.
