normal ba talaga yun sir? same sound talaga kapag cold start up, takataktaktak.....

actually balik nga po ako tom sa casa and papacheck why may ganun na sound kapag cold start.

Hydraulic valve lifter noise is normal for cold starts, should you want it eliminated or lessen the duration of the lifter noise you may wanna consider the use of 5W30 SN oil.

^ marketing ploy lang nila yang isolated case, sa dami ng complainants natatawag pa nilang isolated case yun? Lahat ng stock ecu programming ng accent may engine knock. It can be solved by upgrading the ecu, however not all ecus are created equal. Some knocking incidents were solved and some would recur. It took me almost a year to solve my knocking problems and i had to use an iron fist for them to replace my ecu. For a brand new car its just not worth the hassle.

talaga palang di pa naayos tong problema ng accent. muntikan nakong bumili buti nalang nabasa ko tong forum na to. sabi din sakin nung agent kesyo na design pa to sa europe at cause lang daw ng wrong shifting..haist..may nabasa din akong forum na solved na daw tong issue ( thru ECU upgrade) pero bakit may mga complain parin. di ko alam anong totoo.

Hanggang ngayon pala pinag-uusapan pa din ito. I thought solved na kasi yung saken released January this year, walang knock.

Nung napalitan ecu ko then upgrade to euro 2 natapos na kalbaryo ko. Kahit anong gas from 93 octane up knock free na. sa big3 gas stations lang ako nagpapa gas

Hi Bratski, just want to ask if wala na delay magaccelerate from 1st gear sa paakyat after the ecu change and euro 2?

basta palit ecu then upgrade to euro 2. huwag mag update to euro 1 then euro 2, magkakawindang windang yan. ako pinacheck ko rom id, empre gamit laptop nila. tapos may recommended update na euro 2. sabi sa akin ng technician, papadala muna nila sa hari yung resulta ng engine performance ko. though minimal knock (paahon at di kabilisan) sa straight ok naman...

This is very enlightening....thanks for sharing. for those M/T owners na nag update to euro 2, kamusta na? happy and satisfied na ba kayo sa performance, meron pa ba kayong naririnig na metalic sound as mentioned here in video during shifting? i'm using shell unleade d since my ecu was updated to euro 2, okay na performance ng kotse ko pero meron pa din akong naririnig minsan na metalic sound, very short sound, during shifting....parang piston.

My unit is doin ok after the ecu 2 , no loss of power naman so far after the update 3 weeks ago. im fueling gold and v power since mababa naman ang gas ngayon.

I'm in the PI.I do understand that the fuels are less than optimum,but a car manufacturer should be aware of,and adjust for, the market that they are selling in.I am not a fan of the notion that you have to seek out the higher octane (and more expensive fuels)like you mentioned in your post above CVT.

I have not read any reports of the other manufacturers cars having any problems.

My purpose for posting is simply to find out whether or not the issue has been resolved with no performance compromise.(loss of power).I appreciate makro trying to help,but in my opinion,telling your customers that they must use premium fuel in a 1.4L,doesn't seem like the way to correct a problem.It is a cheap way to fix it (for the manufacturer) but not so much for the customer who pays higher fuel costs because the manufacturer couldn't,or wouldn't fix the problem correctly.

My apologies,but I do not speak the language.Might I ask for any responses to be in English please?Is the Accent still having this knocking problem,or has it been resolved with no loss of power?My opinion is that if the fix for the problem results in engine power loss,then it is not a fix,it is a bandaid.

I have been strongly considering purchasing an Accent.It is a nicer looking car (in my opinion) and has good value for my money,but if this is still an ongoing problem,then is does not speak well of Hyundai's ability to solve problems with their cars with customer satisfaction as their main objective.

Advice or first hand experience is certainly welcome.

Wala ng delay sa acceleration sa euro2 update. Pero may gas station na kinikilingan accent ko. Pag sa petron may very slight knocking parin. Sa shell nitro plus totally eliminated knocking and better response.Yun nga lang napansin ko mas malakas sa gas pag sa shell compared sa Petron. Well i guess you cant have it all.
By the way a/t pala unit ko. Acceleration from standstill is instantaneous. Parang parehas na nung kakabili ko palang.

1.4 A/T Unit with ECU update here.
Ganito din naranasan ko. Fuel Save: ~10 km/l. Nung nag Nitro Racing ako ~9 km/l. Pero mas maganda nga hatak.
Nung nagpa 10k PMS ako, at nag fully synthetic ako bumalik sa halos 10 km/l mileage ko with Nitro Racing
