Question I'm not quite sure about the transmission, on the V6 it's a ZF six-speed automatic transmission, right?
Do you think it works just as well as a dual clutch with paddles?
The only DCT that I have driven was a Ford Fiesta, though it didn't have paddles.
I still prefer the GC's full auto than the Fiesta.
2.0 now running more torque than a V6 :D
Looks like this might take a while....
double post. Damn net.

The GC has 200-300% the horsepower of the Fiesta, mind you.
The DCT isn't quite suited to the Fiesta... but in more powerful cars, dual-clutch transmissions are superior to the standard automatic in the GC. Transmissions like the DCT in the Ford Focus TDCi and the TC-SST in the Lancer Ralliart/Evo models are more responsive and shift a lot faster. The Mitsubishi TC-SST not only shifts quickly, it has an incredibly responsive paddle-shift mode, and automatically downshifts to engine-brake into corners. Whatta gearbox!
I find the GC's gearbox a bit slow on shifts compared to some of the better torque-converter-equipped ATs (the Subaru WRX STi automatic is slower, though), but true to its ZF heritage, it's smooth and holds power real well. And it'll torque-brake to 3k rpm to allow smoking burnouts with the V6. Not much else you can ask of an automatic.![]()

Might have different torque capacity... but it should drive the same.
Only issue with the Mitsubishi system is it may overheat after hard driving on track or on the road and go into limp mode. Mind you, this issue isn't limited solely to the Mitsubishi system (some other high-powered sportscars with fancy gearboxes do this, too), and it's possible a transmission cooler upgrade will alleviate this problem.
