my 2 week search for a genesis finally ended today sad to say...
If I may I'd like to share my experience lang why...
I hope readers will take my comments/observations objectively...
No doubt I still like the Genesis... nor do I have anything against Hyundai..
My doubt and frustration lies on the culture of Hyundai Philippines and its dealers...
My purpose is to inform you for your reference hoping someone else new to the brand will make this feedback useful... no negative reactions towards me necessary hehe!

My previous post will say a little about my experience with Hyundai dealers..

I negotiated terms of discount and freebies with Dasmarinas cavite branch yesterday... only to find out today... brb..

What? Next episode? I hate advertisements. All I can say is, I can point you to a more reputable dealer if you wish. Yes, I got only limited discounts but at least I got the car in the color I wanted and in the timeframe as promised!

Lahat naman ng dealers may chance na sumablay. Nagkamali lang si EJ ng sinabi, ok. Pumayag na nga yung boss nila eh. Ano pa gusto niyo?

Kanina dapat pupunta na kami sa HARI para kunin yung White Genesis Coupe Entry Level M/T. Kaso nabalitaan ko naghihimutok daw si sir dimzum at gustong kausapin si Sir Luis.

FYI, best dealer ang Hyundai Cebu, 2nd ang Dasmarinas Cavite..

Diba nagkamali siya ng nasabi.

Ang sabi ni EJ sa'yo na yung discount for EM ay 40K, w/c is dapat sa V6 Brembo. Ngayon alangan naman bawiin niya yun. Eh nakapag commit na siya, diba?

So kinausap na niya si Luis tungkol doon. Mukhang pumayag pero bwiset din.

Wala nang kumisyon si EJ. TY nalang matatanggap niya at points. Baka nga hindi pa siya bigyan ng unit next pull-out.

Pati yung buong dealer sobrang liit ng magiging kumisyon. Mas mahal pa nga ang full tank ng GC.

Kayo nalang ni EJ or Luis ang mag usap. Hindi ko na dapat iyan sinasabi dito sa boards. Ayoko lang masira si Pareng EJ dito.

may I add this:

I have no problem with E.J. ... he has been accomodating naman..
Tanggap ko na they make mistakes even if I wasn't happy they took back the agreed discount...
My problem has to do with their management...
How they handle clients like me...
So how will they handle warranty issues in the future?

Inunahan ko na si E.J. kanina.... I was clear and calm in telling him na I don't intend to "guluhin" sya... I'd like to talk to their VP who has final say on discounts... I was on my way to Cavite from Manila.. when I got the call with the bad news... I wanted to talk with their VP to discuss the situation... worst case kasi, I make u-turn and go back... and it would be faster to transact and get answer direct from the authorizing person himself... to save me time and shorten my long trip... the answer I got from E.J. was... hanggang dun lang kaya nila (which is the 40k discount without free LTO and free tint)...

may I make one thing clear... can we keep our tone in a normal manner... I'm merely story telling here ah... wala ako oras gumawa ng storya... I was a client who was interested in making a purchase.... I did not force anyone to give me a good discount... I merely asked... and when offered an amount.... I asked kung pwede lakihan na konti... and then I negotiated for freebies.. how is that so wrong people???

THIS IS AN ISSUE OF PRINCIPLES... AS A BUSINESS PERSON, I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THIS PRINCIPLE THAT MY CO-BUSINESS DEALINGS HAVE TO MAKE MONEY AS WELL... IT'S NOT RIGHT THAT AKO LANG ANG LAMANG.... DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF DOING BUSINESS RIGHT??? KARMA LANG KATAPAT KO IF I INTENTIONALLY CHEAT A BUSINESS ASSOCIATE...

Mabuti ka nga binigyan pa ng 40K discount eh.

Yung unit ko 400K more expensive sa kinukuha mo sir. Hiningi ko lang pinaka mababang DI, at lahat ng freebies na pwedeng ibigay. Sa totoo lang nasagad din si EJ noon. Hoping na sana marami akong referral sa kanya. Hindi na ako nag reklamo doon. Why? Kasi yun na yung best deal na nakuha ko..

Now sa case mo.. sa totoo lang 20K lang ang allowable discount sa Genesis Coupe EM. You're given 40K w/c is a big amount. Yung LTO mura lang yan, yung tint naman mas maraming magandang brand sa labas.

Hindi ko pinag tatanggol yung Dasmarinas Cavite, ang akin lang si Pareng EJ ang maiipit dito eh. Kung iba ang SA mo diyan, wala akong pakialam.

Kunin mo yung Red na naka Brembo, sayo yung 40K, LTO at tint na gusto mo.

Kasi ang allowable discount at freebies ay depende sa unit price. 600K ang price difference ng EM sa Brembo Variant.

hindi po issue yung discount dito sir starex gold... gusto lang natin makausap yung nakakataas ng maayos para mapagusapan ang situasyon.... pero sila ang ayaw makipagusap sa akin... wala ako ininsist sa kanila na kelangan nila itupad ang unang usapan...

you can quote and ask EJ on this.. sa tuwa ko kahapon dahil may nag asikaso sa akin ng maayos... I even asked him if he had a freezer at the dealership.. dadalhan ko sya dapat ng mga frozen dimsum para maiuwi nya... pag wala freezer masisira lang kasi yung pagkain habang hindi pa sya umuuwi after office hours...

Okay okay. Hindi naman ako nagagalit or naiinis. Ang concern ko sir yung reputation ni EJ.

Sana kanina tumuloy ka sa Dasma sir. Kasi po wala na magagawa si Luis pag andun ka na. Eventually kakausapin ka din nun. Daanin lang sa maayos na usapan. Kasi ang dating sa akin kanina eh galit ka.

Kung hanggang dun nalang ang kaya nilang ibigay, then fine. Wala na tayo magagawa doon.

Bukas if you have time, pumunta ka nalang doon. Baka sakali nasa good mood si Pogi, este Luis pala. Hehe..

Pwede niyo ayusin ni Luis ang problem nang hindi nadadamay si Pareng EJ diba?

sa ganda ng auto kasi... she's a hot model kumbaga... I felt I got busted after falling in love with a hot chic... how would you feel right??? masakit kasi... this car hit me in the right spot... never ako nagigising ng kusa ng maaga... pero this car made me wake up at 6am sa excitement kanina para ma view yung unit sa HARI... I hope you see my point of view...

my other love is my civic.. but I've never done so much surfing and researching about a car in my life.. and search for future mods too.. and surfed through the old thread with at least 120 pages.. tamad ako mag surf that long.. but I did... haha!

I do hope we get to see each other one day... para makita ko din ride mo hehe! you guys rock! every time I see another GC on the road like on Edsa kanina... ouch! I'm heartbroken! LOL

sir, let us not generalize. and plus, some dealers and manufacturers does some practice like this. for me, its not really an issue of 90KM or the likes. i bet others will even turn off the odometer when delivering the units to dealers so not to increase the km it had ran from port to dealer or whatever.

At sir Dimsum:

Sir, sayang and you weren't able to get your GC. But I can also attest to EJ because he handled my transaction before. He will give tsikoteers the best deal possible. Although some might feel otherwise, at the end of the day, he is still a sales agent.

Now regarding your transaction, sayang and you were on your way. You could actually talk with whoever is their mgr to address your concerns. P40K is quite a huge discount. so offset lang yung LTO and tint is not a big deal. I only got P20K discount if I remember correctly. I paid cash for my GC. As we all know, mas maliit ang commissions ng mga SA if cash instead of financing.

You also have to understand the supply and demand. At least meron sila na hanap the white 2.0 base.

I suggest sir, talk with them, and finalize your deal. At the end of the day, when you are driving the vehicle you always dreamt of, (as the commercial of a credit card, seeing yourself driving an GC is "priceless").

after you get your unit.next problem ng hyundai is...ang tagal nila mag release ng license plate. hahahahha.
