Make sure to religiously follow the PMS schedule, which is max every 5t kms for mineral oil. If your budget can accommodate fully synthetic oil, then go for that. Some will say FS oil can stretch to 10t kms. Personally, I'm not comfortable with all that dirt in my mainly city-driven engine for that long, so whether it's mineral or FS, I target 5t kms. There are FS oils out there with good specs that don't cost and arm and a leg.

After a long run with the turbo blowing, don't just suddenly turn off your engine -- make it cool down for about 2-3 minutes while parked, or while looking for parking. If you can install a turbo timer, then that would be more convenient coz you do not need to wait before turning your ride off. But then, slowly driving in a parking lot looking for a slot, or while near your residence/office is also another way of allowing your engine/turbo to cool down.
is 2-3 mins. enough para ma cool hdown ang turbo?

Okay naman yung stock tires sir. I've driven the GS for 43t kms hindi naman siya nagbigay ng problema sa mga long trips. Speaking of tires, ano magandang ipalit sa stock hankook ra08? Okay ba yung bridgestone dueler H/T?

Hahaha. Nag projector retrofit ako kay garyq and I must say it really is a good investment.

just drive slowly when you are nearing you destination is enough... 2-3 mins cool down you can apply that say you are in NLEX and suddenly you need to gas up at SHELL (they will insist you turn off your engine) then you need to cool down your turbo for at least a minute

So, no need to worry....

Yup, 2-3 minutes cool down should be enough... Or as bro.yapoy said,- you slowdown when you are nearing your destination...

I think the stock RA08 tires are ok. It's also pretty difficult to find a jap tire with the same specs (load rating, exact size).

2-3 minutes are enough for long drives with the turbo in workout mode (i.e. NLEX, SLEX, SCTEX). If you're coming to a halt from highway speeds, entering into one of the big gas stations, chances are you're not going full bore while exiting. So that deceleration already serves as partial cooling down. Say you need to find a parking slot, then you won't be mashing the pedal to the slot naman, so there's more cooling down involved there.

I have a turbo timer on the Prado and our old Gen 3. Had to install a separate autopage alarm so that the Gen 3 would be armed despite being on turbo timer. This is pretty redundant in stop and go traffic. And for folks like me who live in a condo building with basement parking, getting to your slot is already also enough cooling down time.
