The H1(civilian version of the military Hummer) has been dropped from the Hummer lineup.

For practicality, i'd go for the Hummer H3, the standard inline-5 engine has been enlarged to 3.7 liters from 3.5 liters and now makes 242hp. A 295hp 5.3 liter V8 is now also available(Alpha model). A diesel model may be added for the export markets.

    2008 Hummer H2 is now powered by a 393hp 6.2 liter V8 coupled with a new 6-speed A/T.

It gets an all-new, more luxurious interior and now has a full-size 3rd row bench making it a full seven seater SUV(2+3+2 vs the old 2+3+1 seating)

This is the all-new Escalade, like before its based on the new Chevy Tahoe/Suburban(which will be available here soon)

The H2 is still based on a modified heavy duty version of the previous gen GMT820 truck platform used by the previous gen Tahoe/Escaled/Yukon.
The new models use variations of the GMT900 truck platform.

For most off road situations the H1 is too big that you can't run it on certain trails. Another thing bad for the H1 is that it has independent suspension which is not really good for off roading as it limits the articulation you can get. The H2 or H3 with a solid axle rear is better but the H2 is also too big for most trails so the H3 would be better. Independent suspension is good for the street but suck off road where solid axles are better which is why the Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender, and G-Wagon uses solid axles for the front and rear. Check the web and you'll see a bunch of videos where the H1 gets stuck because of the lack of wheel travel.

Escalade, I'm not a big fan of Escalades "looks-wise" since it doesn't really shout out to me when I see one here. Non-car people will look at it and think it's a fortuner, or a expedition. So, I guess I'd go H2 or H3, since manuevering a large vehicle and finding a parking spot would be hard to do. And Hummers are really eye catchers, since there aren't many of them here.
I don't really agree with you on this. The Escalade is a looker lalo na with its big grill infront and stock 20" rims. I don't think people would mistake this for a fortuner kasi size wise palang malayo na kahit un regular Escalade lang, what more if un EXT pa. Sa expedition naman, iba talaga itsura ng Escalade. I really think Escalades are a looker here lalo na kasi hindi siya common

may not be practical for "just" a purpose. given the road and driving situation in Pinas, might be better buy a used Pajero or any SUV and save your money and headache , instead just spend them on girls.

Well if you're just using it for that and want a pimp my ride type vehicle then get the Escalade. The world doesn't need another neutered Hummer there are enough of them out there being used as a mall crawler instead of going off road.

Cadillac Escalade is Luxury sport utility has all. It has genuine leather seat manufacture. More Power has its V8 engine gas. More engine pulling power and has strong engine. Torque Power.

Cadillac Escalade has three models include the Long Wheelbase ESV, it also have a EXT it is SUT and there is standard model. In our shore I already seen an Escalade even Hummer H1,H2,and H3. There is an importer dealer in our shore. Having check on the Tsikot Buy and Sell Section. Thanks.

I saw the new Escalade today, kasabay ko sa freeway. Needless to say it looks like one of those GMC/Chevy SUV's...didn't give it a second look hehe.

The Hummer is a "loud" toy, while the Escalade is a "pimp" toy. Like Clarkson said the Hummer makes you feel like a 12 year old boy all over again.

H2 isn't really tough, maraming problema yon regarding toughness. I saw a video of it going offroad and I think the tie rod or something broke, ayun naging piki sabay disabled.

Here's something to watch before you leap:
Range Rover vs Cadillac Escalade vs Hummer H2 in a hillclmb
Hummers can be too arrogant-looking on Filipino roads.
    Escalades are too stylish.
Range Rovers blend too much with the rest.
    But just watch.

Hmm lets see it's a British show comparing a British truck to two American vehicles. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who would win this comparo, it doesn't even show why the Hummer just stopped moving. The Escalade was never meant to go off roading with the low ground clearance.

Of course you can find videos of any 4x4 make showing the other brands in bad light. Heck, here is a couple from my Xterra club.

    OT apology:
Sorry redorange, I didn't mean to offended your american sensibilities.
I didn't think it was such a touchy issue anyway, considering that Land Rover's parent company is Ford Motor Co (since 2006) with HQ in Irvine, California, south of you. So to me, it's not really a British vs American thing. It's really Jeremy Clarkson's hangup, not mine.
Escalade, H2, Range Rover -- far as I'm concerned, they're all foreign makes that don't help the Philippines that much. Maybe the only connection the Rover has with us is that its daddy, the Series I, is the first cousin of the PUJ (Willy's kids). And if you look at the family tree, you'll find that H1 was a bastard sunuvajeep! heeehaw! :hysterical:

Am not offended since I own neither a Hummer or Range Rover but a Nissan. I was just pointing out that the videos you posted were very much bias to make British makes look better than American made vehicles which is crazy. Do you know how to check the oil of a British made vehicle? Look at your garage floor and see how big the oil puddle is. To me all makes and models have their weakness so it doesn't make sense to proclaim that one is superior to another.
