    Maybe it IS only for the 2.4... my bet is on faulty oil filter gasket material or in the quality of the oil filter itself... notice that these incidents were connected to the regular free service oil change.

    The fault could be in the factory or supplier making the OEM filters.

    It's simply a factory defect on the models concerned. Honda just refuses to admit their fault. Victims must demand for their money back. For sure, this will significantly affect sales.

    It is still better to have your oil change in the casa. Also the CRV being sold here are 2.0 liter and not 2.4 liter. There might be a difference.

    But that 2.4-liter engine is similar to the base Accord currently on sale here. Don't panic, though, the Accord has a different gearbox, and there haven't been such cases reported in the US yet.

    That may be true.... But I don't think that diamonds can melt. Or not that quickly at least.

    if the fire reached 3820ºK (which is quite impossible), then maybe.



    *3820ºK is the melting point of mineral Diamond.
