Having fire extinguishers as OEM is an excellent idea. However it doesnt seem to hint at the quality of the car.

Fire Extinguishers are standard on most Korean vehicle. If not, there will usually be a bracket ready made for it.

On European vehicles, the fire extinguishers are usually under the driver's seat.

As long as you use a branded fire extinguisher like Kiddie or First Alert, I don't think you will be in any immediate danger.

We have had fire extinguishers in all our vehicles since the 1970's. On my Kia Besta, it was even on top of the engine cover right behind the driver's seat.

Maybe it IS only for the 2.4... my bet is on faulty oil filter gasket material or in the quality of the oil filter itself... notice that these incidents were connected to the regular free service oil change.

The fault could be in the factory or supplier making the OEM filters.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

It's simply a factory defect on the models concerned. Honda just refuses to admit their fault. Victims must demand for their money back. For sure, this will significantly affect sales.

It is still better to have your oil change in the casa. Also the CRV being sold here are 2.0 liter and not 2.4 liter. There might be a difference.

At the time of the article, I think around 2004, locally, Honda Philippines just sold 2.0 liter CRVs. But yes, now there are 2.4 liter CRVs available locally.

But that 2.4-liter engine is similar to the base Accord currently on sale here. Don't panic, though, the Accord has a different gearbox, and there haven't been such cases reported in the US yet.
