August 20th, 2013 03:08 PM #19My Ride: toyota vios 1.3 MT
loyal shell Fuel Save RON 93 dati, now RON 91 nalang user... why??? ang ganda ng acceleration kick!
what i tried before shell
1. petron extra unleaded RON 93 before. (now RON 91) - ang pangit ng acceleration, need to step more on the gas
2. caltex silver RON 93 before (now RON 91) - smooth ride, kaso no acceleration kick
3. total Reg unleaded RON 93 - same as petron
ayaw ko na mag try ng iba... pero mukang na tetemp ako sa UniOil Euro4 unleaded gas
TIPS ko lang sa inyo
1. never buy GAS on stations that are prone to flood to avoid water and dirt contamination
2. only buy GAS at large or known GAS stations, because napakalaki mawawala sa kanila pag nasira reputation nila
3. surroundings must be clean
feel free to add more

Yung entry-level unleaded gas ng most stations have dropped octane ratings from 93 to 91. I tried both Petron and Shell 91RON fuels, both of them made my car feel slow to accelerate and needs more push on the pedal. I didn't bother to use such type of fuel (kahit anong station man yan). I was now choosing between Petron XCS (95RON), Petron Blaze(100RON), Shell V-Power (95RON), Shell V-Power Nitro Racing (97RON), Total ProTec (95RON), and SeaOil Extreme97. I have had bad experience with Caltex before so I don't bother in using Silver or Gold. I have not tried UniOil's gas but I am interested in trying them. Blaze is quite good and so with the top Shell Nitro Racing. However, I am still sold on SeaOil's Extreme97 - better than other 95RON fuel, about the same as Blaze and Shell Nitro Racing, but at the price as most 91RON fuel (P50.10 per liter at SeaOil Sucat). My other option is Total ProTec.
IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
