What CRV model can i get with a 400k budget?
Noticed that there's a pricey leap from an 02 and an 03 is this valid?
CRV will be my first ride....

probably a 99-00, first generation automatic. at 400 you can get the freshest versions.

the 2nd generation still goes for about 400 to 450 i think. the facelifted version of the 2nd generation model with the new headlight design and 16 inch rims about 50 to 100k higher.

so an 01 model would be a 2nd gen CRV already?
Would a 400k budget get me near an 02 CRV, or is an 02 CRV at 400k a rare thing...?

    Hmmm... how about 420k - 450k?

    '04 CRV kaya kaya?

If you have a budget of 420k to 450k, that would be good enough for a 99 to 01 1st generation CRV, you have extra money for repairs and mods if you like. Get the 1st generation CRV, the 2nd generation is not that good in terms of comfort and fuel consumption vs the former in my opinion. Take your time to scout for the best unit available in the market, good luck.

there are 01 1st generation CRVs, but they're run-out models, sold at a little discount because of the incoming 2nd gen V. our CRV was a 01, but they're not very many.

nabenta pa yun ng 410 or 420 yata, early last year.

if i were buying, i will probably prep 420-450 for a good, smooth 2nd gen if i were buying from buy and sell guys. 410-430 from private sellers na kelangan pa puntahan. tawad ka, especially for the early release models that were sold last quarter of 01 to 02.

05 was the start of the facelifted model pala. last time i checked (kasi gusto ko din nito hihihi), nsa 550-600 pa eh. napakamahal pa, pero maayos naman.

What Gen would be the most fuel efficient (though i know that fuel economy is a lost cause among suvs)

Just want to know whats the real score among the 1st and 2nd gen CRVs...

What models would be the most fuel efficient in your opinion....

99 - 01 would seem to be my best option

    Thanks...

Oh i have a newbie question na medyo OT

i want to buy a second hand car direct from the owner. but im going to have it bank financed.

Paano yun? Will the bank just give me the cash and ill give it to the first owner tapos bigay ko sa bank yung OR/CR nung CAr?

Yung iba kasi alam ko dealer na naghahandle, but what if 1st owner na private citizen ang kausap. will the bank send a kind of liaison?

(sorry, i know that this should be directed to another forum, but nobody's answering my ?s there)

    Again

    Super thanks!!!

i used to get 8-10 mixed city and highway on my 1st gen.

2nd gen gets slightly worse (DAW). i recall a low of 6-8, and a high of 8-10. perhaps it depends on the state of tune, but the 1st gen has 4wd, so the 8-10 figure seems somewhat apprpriate, given its 2.0 liter engine. i know some owners of 1.6 cars who get a lot less...

all 1st gens have 4wd, most of the 2nd gens have 2wd. only issue i had with mine was the suspension, but was easily repaired naman. once repaired, the car was fine till i sold it.

as for your bank financing Q, i think you may have to arrange that with your bank, if they allow transactions through private sellers. if they allow, then you will most probably be handed a manager's check to give to the seller. or they will also send an appraiser to check the car, then negotiate for bottom dollar. upon agreement, pasok na yung manager's check. i don't think they'll give direct cash.

Mukhang first gen na nga bagsak ko...

    Swak sa budget at maintenance!!

    Okay one more question...

Given all things equal (freshness and engine condition)

What would be your pick of the 1st gens?
