i'm using about a gallon per month of oil now. rate of loss is high, and the oil drips on the floor show it.
please help me identify the source of the leak naman... pina angat ko na sa gas station and it seems to be coming from the top, but looking from the top, it seems to be coming from the middle of the engine naman, looking at the rocker cover, it seems to be coming from the right side lower portion.
some pics:
engine pic. no oil splatters naman sa taas thank god
left side rocker cover near airbox
left side lower near the exhaust manifold shroud
right side rocker cover. below the rocker cover is where it drips the most so i stuck my phonecam between the p/s hose and brake reservoir
and this is what i found:
i'm thinking camshaft oil seal.
or oil pan gasket + rocker cover gasket.
is it safe to assume na pag nagpa timing belt change makuha din itong leak na to? any other possible sources or ideas are welcome before dalhin ko sa casa/forcedspeed at magsimulang baklasin. ayoko ng nasty surprises medyo tight kasi budget.
thanks in advance.

September 19th, 2010 11:24 AM #2good day sir, on my first impression, parang sa valve cover galing ang leak. it's better to clean it first then tingnan nyo uli kung san talaga galing ang tagas. you can use kerosene to remove the oil using an old tooth brush. para ma sure po kung talagang valve cover ang tagas. hth

malamang its either the camshaft or cranshaft oil seal yan. And your timing belts now swimming in oil. Sabay mo na lang change ng tatlong ito plus the belt tensioner.
