    mga bossing,

kuha lang po sana ako ng mga inputs regarding engine upgrade (plano ko mag engine upgrade in the near future). My ride is honda civic lxi 98 MT. What are the things i should consider in upgrading my engine? ano po yung mga bagay na dapat palitan? Can you please guys give me a rough estimate kung magkano dapat ang ibudget ko for for both d15b and b16 engines? Wala naman po akong planong mag race, gusto ko lang ng mas malakas na hatak when it comes to inclined roads and when over taking.

    Salamat!

Before you change your engine. Know your current engine's limits first.

Baka kaya medyo nahihinaan ka sa hatak niyan is because hindi siya " tuned " .

Ipatune up mo muna yan then speed up sa hanggang kaya mo.

Wala rin silbi ang change engine if you can't go over 100kph.

After knowing your engine's limits, dun ka palang magdecide kung gusto mo pa magengine swap. If you do, then maraming known shops na nagsswap diyan.

Tandaan mo, HONDA yan. Maraming parts yan all around, pati engine.

Ikaw bahala. But then again, IHATAW mo hanggang sa kaya ng puso mo. USELESS.

If you're not going to race it or utilize its full power, spending another 100,000 pesos to upgrade to a B16 (not including modifications to the brakes and suspension to cope with the extra power) is kind of frivolous, isn't it?

An upgraded Honda ECU, a full exhaust and intake modifications will get you more oomph without breaking the bank. I suggest visiting Honda Club Philippines and asking around about cheap mods that actually work.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

+1 ako dito. try to visit HCP (Honda Club Phil) or the 'alternative' site -> Team Honda Philippines (http://z7.invisionfree.com/teamhonda...hp?showforum=1)..

as for your upgrade, if you're going the D15B route -- upgrade first your Intake/Header/Exhaust then have it tuned. Those parts could be reused when you upgrade to D15B (actually, if you go B16 -- only the headers could not be reused since it has a different fit compared to a D15B). Tuning can 'modestly' improve your engine, but the real benefit would be fuel consumption (on a good tune, you can go 12Km/L on city driviing ) and the ECU (P08, or whatever ECU you bought) can be reused on either the D15B or B16 upgrade. Having it tuned will save you enough gas money (hopefully) for your D15B upgrade ;)

IMHO, if you're not into 'racing' or even a couple of track days -- don't go B16. the 160hbp could be enticing but so is the P130K++ price (includes install, brake upgrade, etc etc).

Why not do IHE > P08 ECU swap > JDM D15B engine swap, then dyno tuning.

in my opinion, if you just want to increase power and not plan to race, dont go upgrading your engine. lalo na kung matino pa makina na gamit mo.

i have a LXi also ph15 engine, tapos gusto ko rin maramdaman yung vtec. so i Asked advise from some friends that are into racing and they told me... its a waste of time and money. baka yung makuha mo engine ay marami pa prob.

they let me try a d15b 20cams stock, complete with LSD tranny and upgraded suspension. hindi hamak na mas malakas pero seeing the gas level going down, to maximize power, nawalan na ko gana. 80k to upgrade to d15b, LSD tranny, p08, tune, upgrade suspension and break... aint worth it unless your going to the track and use its full potential.

pero if your set on doing it, try forced speed sa mindanao ave. they have lots of engine around.

IMHO, if you are not into racing, an engine change is more trouble than what it is worth.

I'd rather sell the car and upgrade to a VTi or an SiR. The price for the engine, labor and tuning might come out to be more than the price difference to upgrade to these cars.

sir nhoyti gusto mo talaga d mabitin sa takbo?but you will spend 100k for it.

    engine block - d16y7 1.6 non vtec
head - d15b wild cam profile
    intake - y8
    tranny - s20 or ph12
    shop - h3autoworkz

before im planning to upgrade my ph15 engine but when i saw the details and price i change my mind and save my 100k for a bnnew suzuki swift..hehe

O rerechip nalang yung ECU?
