hey guys. do you think its reasonable for honda to adjust the SRP again when almost all other car dealers are giving discounts?

As long as consumers are buying hondas even without discounts, it will always be the up to honda to adjust prices.
As long as there is demand, you can't do anything about it.
yup i know honda has the right to increase it anytime they want. business is all about making money. but is it reasonable? example, tagal na ng civic no new features added pero nag-adjust. sana man lang nag-facelift ng konti ala-vios hehe
*ghost - excellent answer. when oil prices went up to almost p60, i hope you were saying "THE BIG THREE doesn't have to have a reason. they have all the right to increase prices all they want"![]()
accord is made in thailand and effective this year duties went down from 20% to zero. i dont recall prices going down for accord. i am not sure where civic, city and crv is made.
how much was the increase?
*uls - another excellent reply. the question is IS IT REASONABLE
when we found out that mwss execs were giving themselves bonuses, it is legal but is it reasonable? from your reply, mwss execs "they don't have to explain anything to anyone"
when we found out about garci, zte, is it reasonable?from your reply, gma, abalos, etc "they don't have to explain anything to anyone"
simple lang ang tanung, is it reasonable?
Civic and City = Thailand rin ata.
CRV, thai rin. :D
Duties went down to 0%. Additional money saved went to pockets of the manufacturer/dealers. Its called profit.
If prices are not reasonable/palatable. Don't buy.

*ghost - good for you. any other excellent answers? is it REASONABLE?
they don't have to be reasonable
they're not selling basic goods
ano ba ang jazz, civic, CRV?
grocery items na may SRP ng DTI?
they can raise their prices as they wish
they don't have to explain anything to anyone
The question "is it reasonable" can't be answered unless you state by how much Honda has increased the MSRP. But if it's the typical 50k peso ($1k) correction, it's probably reasonable.
They don't have to have a reason. But that doesn't mean they increase without one.
If the "Big Three" increase fuel prices when global oil prices are low, they lose market volume to the midsized players (Total, SeaOil, UniOil). They maintain the margin they have to small players (like Jetti and less known gas services) by what the market will accept.
That's the long and short of it. I found it quite funny when the media praised UniOil for lowering prices when the "Big Three" weren't, when in truth... everyone else had lowered before, and UniOil was simply lowering to meet the rest of the market.
The whole idea of there being a "Big Three" is BS. We have a "Big Two" in Shell and Petron... a few medium sized players (Caltex, SeaOil and TOTAL) and a bunch of small ones. Even then, the "medium" players like Caltex and TOTAL are bigger globally than Petron.
Back when it was just them, they were effectively a cartel. but the Government conceived of their stake in Petron as a way of preventin profiteering and keeping prices low. Guess what? Petron had to charge just the same as everyone else to stay profitable. Nowadays, that's more true than ever... however smaller companies will happily sell fuel to you at a lower profit margin because they don't have the market share to compete in terms of expansion and investment.
Make more money, you have more money to invest in better facilities, more new stations and better service. Make less money, and you'll close down in just a few short years.
------
I hope you remember all this next time you go to eat at McDonald's or Jollibee and wonder why they can't lower their prices to compete with Minute Burger and Burger Machine.Burger Machine used the cheaper-is-better idea to try to gain market share back in the 90's with their bigger non-stall stores. However, since they couldn't charge more for their burgers at these stores, they couldn't turn a profit, so they're back to being food-stall fodder.
-----
Honda doesn't need a reason to increase prices. That's inflation. If others are giving discounts, that's because they're not meeting quotas and are not getting the market share they want. (again with the market share)
If you want a Toyota now, it's never been cheaper. Might come back to bite them in the butt, all the incentives and discounts they're giving out (includng 0% financing in the US)... but Toyota is desperate to maintain global market share in the face of recent scandals.
Good for buyers. If you've always wanted a Vios, now's the time to get one.![]()

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
so that's you're basis for reasonable pricing?is it reasonable for hyundai to be #3 overpassing honda? of course NOT, honda should be #1 because they have VERY VERY REASONABLE SRPs
market share?
so Toyota has the most reasonable pricing?
dude, do people buy Toyota cars coz of their "reasonable" pricing or coz of brand perception and product quality?

i did not know that it will be hard to get an answer on a simple query answerable by yes or no.
at least this proves that tsikot.com is full of SAs, employees of car dealers, maybe even managers or owners.
for the final tally, only one REASONABLE response from uls - NOT REASONABLE hehe

Your answer cannot be answered. Reasonable or not, it's their choice.
Wala akong magagawa .... Wala kang magagawa ... wala tayong magagawa
And even though their prices strike up high ...
May bibili at bibili pa rin.
That's life, that's honda.
Sumbong ka sa DTi kung gusto mo.

just 2 answer the question. probably it is bec. i believe with all the incoming cars right now, they are preparing for low demand hence increasing their SRP.
or another pricing strategy, they'll do a kia, increase srp in the lean months, come the ber pre-X'mas season when all new cars have settled in the market, honda cars will give discounts too. so therefore, yun previous price is the discounted priceandun pa din yun illusion na nakatipid ang would be honda buyers.
maybe this has something to do with the upcoming PIMS, Honda yata lang ang walang ilalabas na bagong modelo. and so they get more money sa mga die hard Honda buyers when all others are talking about the brand new cruize, sonata, sx4, asx, sportage, fiesta, mazda2 etc.\
sometimes kasi hindi lang cutthroat competition ang best strategy
