October 25th, 2010 10:27 PM #2Do NOT put additives on your engine oil whether mineral based or synthetic. Hindi recommended yan ng casa at makakasama pa, baka mag sludge/mamuo ang langis at mag stuck up...overhaul ang pupuntahan nyan.
Motul is a very good brand. Kung mabilis sya umitim, then it is doing its job of cleaning the engine of dirt. Ang engine oil na natatagalan bago mag darken ay hindi magandang klase, hindi sya nakakalinis.
Mobil 1 is also a good brand, sila ang nag pioneer ng fully synthetic technology AFAIK.

When you change oil, usually with gas stations (and even casas) try checking after changing oil. I bet you will see that your newly changed oil is .... black. Itim na. Even if you use flushing oil. Black pa rin yan. Doesn't mean it's bad, it just means enough of the old oil was left to color the "gold" or "yellow" new oil to black.
If you insist to see "gold", "clear" or "yellow" oil (and usually your car purring and running better than usual), this what the neighborhood mechanics did to one of my cars --- diesel flushing. Yeah, flush the engine with diesel fuel. Drain, fill with diesel fuel, redondo mo (at your risk) 5 seconds and/or soak in for an hour, flush and repeat. Usually 3-4x thus using around 20 liters or less of diesel fuel. Until diesel runs out clear. Finally drain for 2 hours before filling with the synthetic (or whatever engine oil you use). Run the engine a few minutes. Check mo, gold/clear/yellow yung sa oil dipstick.
I did this to 2 (one Ondoy victim a City 2004, one 1998 Mazda 323) and both ran smoothly afterwards. However do it at your own risk.

di ba delikadong masira yang makina mo at imbes na oil ang gamitin diesel and ginamitin mo substitute sa oil? iba kasi ang properties ng diesel at oil di niya mabibigyan ng protection ang part pagdating sa friction kaya masmalaki ang wear nito, siguro sa cleaning maganda ng ito. bakit di ka na lang bumili ng murang oil meron nito 100pesos lang per liter ito muna ang gamitin mo, drain mo ang old oil then replace nitong oil na ito let it run for a few km, mga 5 kms, then replace oil, oil filter, yan malinis na ang oil pag nag check ka.

ang ginagawa ko naman ay drain used oil, then fill with diesel, manually rotate crankshaft fot about 10 revolutions, then let it soak for an hour, drain completely, then pour in a gallon of sae 10 oil, let the engine idle for 30 mins, drain, then put in the required oil. so fart, ok naman result.

Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
