April 3rd, 2011 06:03 PM #1HELLO PO MGA TSIKOTERS..
i am planning to buy a second hand honda civic vti 99 model. and so far as we inspect with my most trusted mechanic. ok sya since ito ay automatic tranny...
but i wa confused.. kasi yung shifter nya is walang overdrive option....
as far as i know all matic tranny have a o/d option.. ang sabi sakin ng seller.. is. 2000 up model lang daw po ang meron nito..? is it true na may mga modelo ng matic (honda) without O/D option??
thank.. pleas help ^^
replies are highly appreciated

If there is no O/D option, there should be a '3' option on the floor shifter. Not a Civic expert but O/D off and '3' are just the same. They both lock out fourth (aka overdrive) gear.

^^^ Yup,- when at "D", it is already in Overdrive option. Meaning it goes up to 4th gear.
So, to disable overdrive(4th gear),- put the tranny in D3.
In the case of Hyundai vehicles, specifically the Starex A/T variants,- there is a button for O/D off (and not O/D on).
Wow! A 99 model still demanding a P240K price tag?.... Well,.....
