The name WR-V puts the soft-roader in line with other members of Honda’s crossover lineup, and the company explains it stands for Winsome Runabout Vehicle. The concept is closely related to the surprisingly practical Fit city car, and it’s about a size smaller than the HR-V. Visually, it stands out with a tall front end characterized by chiseled headlights underlined by a wide grille. A fake brushed aluminum trim on the front bumper and black plastic cladding over the wheel arches add a rugged touch to the overall look.

Technical specifications are unavailable, but the Fit roots shed insight into what we can expect under the hood. In Brazil, Honda’s smallest model exclusively ships with a 1.5-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine that generates 116 horsepower and 110 pound-feet of torque. It’s capable of burning either gasoline or ethanol, a common fuel in Brazil.

They needed a higher ground clearance Honda jazz. I'm guessing they're considering this because of floods(suv popularity also) Also a less expensive hrv..

    ..edit

I just read topgears comment and they also use the word "flood" ...

If the price is right,- then Honda will be flooded with demand for the ride...

Pero, sabi nga ni bro.shadow,- pangarap lang dahil nga PRESTIGE e...

now that the new WRV final design has been released. this is truly at par with Ecosport, and with Ecosport pricing according to Brazil and India. to be released march 2017.

hello toyota, mitsubishi. meron na take ng trono ni ecosport

I like the final design. Better than the rounded style of the HR-V, although the HR-V has better proportions.

Size is just right. Not too big.

Agree that pricing for this will be the deciding factor if it'll make or break =)
slightly more expensive than a jazz which is around 150-200k will do it.
    Magkano ba lately ang jazz?

What are the reasons? Personally I see it as the competitor to the Ecosport with the pricing same as or slightly more expensive than the Mobilio.

I was thinking brazil lng ang gagawa. India will also assemble it pala. I guess honda decided to fight off the ecosport. They probably know the dct issues might get them a piece of the huge pie.

yeah br-v is interesting but i don't need the 3rd row and i don't like CVT. br-v has no m/t option

so i hope the WR-V comes in m/t. i don't drive daily in traffic so m/t not an issue

if it doesn't then i'll probably opt for ecosport m/t coz i don't like ford DCT either
