Engine) to the Driven Shaft (which goes to the wheels).
eto na lang FYR accdg. to Wikipedia
---------------------------------------------------------------------
A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is a transmission which can change steplessly through an infinite number of effective gear ratios between maximum and minimum values. This contrasts with other mechanical transmissions that only allow a few different discrete gear ratios to be selected. The flexibility of a CVT allows the driving shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity over a range of output velocities. This can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds.

u can search thru "http://asia.vtec.net/" about Wong's review on this Engine/Tranny combo.

May 22nd, 2008 05:19 PM #793yung First Gen yes - pang North America lang yung tranny, pero etong Second Gen - FIT/JAZZ mukhang pang Japan lang ang CVT. kasi ayon sa Honda Thailand website (where we source our Jazz) its 5AT (slushbox-torque converter kind)....
look it up here

Mas masaklap sa akin yung pagtigil ng pagbenta ng L13A 1.3L engine. According to Honda Japan, the new L13A i-VTEC engine now makes 100 HP, an 18HP bump from the old twin-spark i-DSI unit.
SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!

June 3rd, 2008 05:46 PM #798Hopefully a 1.3L engine model will be available once released in our shores but if it is coming from thailand i suspect the new jazz to be available in a 1.5L engine model only.
Weird since the increasing price of fuel, car manufacturers are increasing the displament of their cars. shouldn't it be the other way around.

June 16th, 2008 12:53 PM #800Fellow car lovers,
Patulong naman guys. Have a honda jazz 1.5 vtec matic. lakas ng fuel consumption and medyo eratic. Compute ko kc sa consumption from a high of 12 to as low as 3. Wala naman palya sa makina or black smoke na lumalabas sa exhaust. Ano kaya problem nito?. Bagong change oil naman. MIleage is 10k+ hindi pa nga lang napalitan ng spark plug. Tia
