Honda Automatic transmission problems P to D and R shutters

Hi Sir Doddie, very informative post. we have the same car model. Ask naman ako contacts ng shops outside casa para makamura. Malapit lang ako nakatira sa Honda Otis.

Issue ko is ung sudden 5 secs freeze from N to D. Plus ung hinde nagststart either sa P or sa N.

Had the same issue with my jazz gd3.. nung una nag slip yung tranny, nag jerk then hindi nag tagal nag bblink na yung "D". once ngyari na sa inyo to cvt tranny issue na tlga. i know replacing the cvt tranny is a drastic step.. pero after researching and asking other jazz owners na may ganitong issue it seems na replace tranny na tlga. got my tranny replaced last Jan by Mel, so far wala ako problema whatsoever.
Another issue came into play.. nag jjerk kpg idle or mabagal.. usually kpg nsa toll or traffik.. lalo na kapag bukas aircon. replaced my ignition coils.. pinalitan ko na rin spark plugs.. ayun ok na ulit. kinakapos pala ng kuryente kaya nag misfire.

sir mine is idsi 2006 at, ganyan din problem ko dati ,, jerking , nanginginig ,slipping, ayaw mag start sa P o N... dito din ako sa mga bossing natin sa tsikot nanghingi ng advice at tulong ,, pero i end up na ibenta nlang ung car ko ,, sarap na ng tulog ko kc if you back read talaga sa problem ng idsi eh sasakit na ang ulo mo.. kya i decided na benta nlang khit palugi ,, peace of mind pa din ang mahalaga eh ,, btw dun sa ayaw mag start sa p or n try mo mag switch off sa p tas konting rebolusyon bago patayin makina ,, good luck sir.

Things i did since January:
• Replace CVTF at Honda Otis, calibrated - observe.
• Replace top valve cover gasket at Honda Otis - observe.
• Change Oil (Motul fully-synthetic)
• Change all Eight spark plugs, Air filter, Front disk brakes.

Problems:
• Vibrates paminsan especially pag heavy gapang traffic.
• Normal gamitin if city driving if ang takbo is 60kph to 80kph driver only or with one passenger. pero if loaded like apat na passengers medyo nadedelay yung pag shift.
• If expressway: till 80kph lang if dahan-dahan ang pagbuilt ng speed/momentum pero pag binigla mo ayaw nya, parang manual na humihingi ng shift pero ayaw mag gear-up. pero if unti-unti ang takbo eh nakaka takbo naman ng 100-120 kph.

Sa observations ko, para sya talagang nagdedelay sa pag dagdag ng kambyo. parang Manual tranny na 80kph na takbo mo pero naka segunda ka pa din.

Ano problema nito? sadly sa mga napagtatanungan ko eh out of stock ang flywheel. gusto ko na nga sana palitan as sugal move baka machambahan. - Since ang change tranny option is 15k surplus plus labor medyo mahal kaya gusto ko muna maka siguro na CVT tranny or Flywheel nga ang sira bago ko ipatira para hindi masayang pera.

Do you have the habit of keeping the gear in D and just use the break to stop then release the break to move again even in inclined (uphill) or levelled road?

If the answer is yes, change your driving habit by shifting to N from time to time

Sir any update dun sa parang hindi sya nagshishift? Gnyan kc skin ang taas ng rpm parang hindi sya nagshishift, nakadalawalang palit na ako transmission pero same issue parin

You might want to try replacing engine and / or transmission mounts.

For the slight vibration, yes i will, altho napasilip ko yung mga engine support okay pa naman. My real concern is yung takbo nya.

You can't really check engine mount by just looking at them. The rubber compound looses it's efficiency after a decade or so.

honda jazz 2005. 1.3 IDSI...The car is a very smooth drive indeed, wala jerk or judder..malakas humatak sa drive(D) pero pag dating sa highway ko nararamdaman.. mahina apak mo going to 80km * 2.5 rpm but after sa tollgate sa nichols mag accelerate na, napapansin ko nag high rpm na sya.. same apak din naman...going to 80km * 3.5rpm na... then medyo bibitawan ko gas pedal.. ayaw na bumaba ng rpm.. para kang nasa 3rd gear lang ng AT.. dapat nasa 7th gear na.. so inaactivate ko nalang yung 7speed mode para bumaba yung RPM at 80km... pero pag deneactivate mo yung 7 speed mode biglang tataas uli yung RPM 3.5...ano kaya problem? thanks

Nagkaprob din ako sa shuddering nang trans for 2 years... Bumili ako nang XADO REVITALIZANT kaka change cvtf ko lang netong sabado.. Observe ko nang ilanv months kung bbalik yung shuddering sa trans..

Changing your tranny is not the only option ^_^. Its repairable.

Sir bong, yung sa akin Honda civic 1.8S AT 2008.

Mataas ang revolution pag start and naka naka check engine na sya, then pag nasa expressway ako from 100 speed biglang mararamdaman mo na humina na ang power nya and kahit mag gas ako ayaw na mag react ng speed. Then mag slow down sa 60 na speed and maramdaman mo mag shi-shift yung gear (may sipa) then ginagawa ko mag stop ako, by the time na mag stop (brake apak ko) pag shift ko ng gear from D to N biglang taas ang rpm nya na parang naka apak ka ng matindi sa gas. Then shift ko sa park at off ko ang makina. Then after mga 5 mins on ko ulit and ok nanaman. Then maitatakbo ko ulit ng mga ilang minutes, then bumabalik ulit sya sa sira. Parang pag uphill saka sya bumabalik sa sira nya.

Ano kaya sira nitong car ko?

definitely go authentic oem honda atf. maselan ang mga honda pag dating sa mga fluids especially when it comes to a/t trannies.
