April 16th, 2008 08:26 PM #1Mga sir bibili na sana ako ng mags kanina but i noticed na lahat ng
Aftermarket wheels na gusto ko has a larger hub opening than the stock hub size.
Ok lang ba yun? May mga gumagamit ba sa inyo ng "hub rings" and san nakakakuha nun?
Di ba masama kung puro stud lang ang humahawak sa weight ng car? thanks again

IMO i would not recommend this... just get the right size for your ride for safety purposes.

The center spigot is what supports the weight of the vehicle, not the wheel's lugs/studs. You will need a wheel that will fit the spigot without any play.
Definitely a NO for hub rings. Hanap ka na lang ng ibang gulong.

It seems I stand corrected...Most aftermarket wheels, it seems, will need hub-centric rings after all.
Here's a link and a helpful explanation, courtesy of Redorange:

I'm now also on the lookout for hub-centric rings as my wheels need them too. Any suggestions on where to buy them?

type 100
so i went sa c.c. barleta machine shop and gumagawa nga sila.
pero hintayin ko muna yung sa rota sa monday kung meron talaga. balitaan kita sir

Thanks Dante. Yeah, mukhang fabricate na nga lang. Tried calling up Wheelhaus along Evangelista (where I got my wheels from) and they didn't know about it. Actually it's very surprising how almost no one in the local car industry knows of hub-centric rings...
I have a contact from Rota who sells rims on HCP and AutoIndustriya. Called him up an hour ago and he says he doesn't know of them making hub-centric rings. He would rather just sell you a set of rims that will fit flush with the spigot.
But if you say Rota makes them...hmmm...I can check them out at their factory the week after next Kung wala eh di fabricate na rin ako, o pasadya ako ng order sa mga kakilala sa US at doon marami nyan

Update:
Friends from HCP have just told me Rota does make hub-centric rings for PhP200 apiece. Yun nga lang sarado ata sila on Saturdays.
Autoplus along EDSA meanwhile can fabricate a set for you at PhP500 each. The job should take just 2 hours.

Tawagan ko na rin sila mamaya just in case bro. ;) I think I have a number here somewhere.
You might have to take the wheel(s) off the car and measure the hub bore and wheel bore for the outer and inner diameters of the hub-centric rings.

Update:
I now have hub-centric rings fabricated for my wheels. It took considerably longer but my wheels now fit over the center spigot with no problems.
