Ive been a fun of old car, mga 95 to 97 model. Oki naman.. Ang advantage lang is halos wala akong depreciation cost. Kasi I got the car lower than market value the I maintain it and use it then sell it a notch Higher than market value so more or less yun yung maintenance ko.

Between Esi and Hatch naman..

go for vti sir ehe. 96-97 kung tight ang budget, vtec na kasi ito, or lxi if mas gusto mo makatipid sa fuel.. and stock appearance lang nang sedan na to maporma na, and EFI na sila compared sa hatch..

kung tight ang budget i wouldn't recommend a honda as a first car. mataas kasi ang resale value nila.

try mo ding tumingin ng mga sentra, lancer at corolla lovelife. for sure makaka-kuha ka ng mas bagong oto sa price ng ESI at EG. super mahal ng EG ngayon

No one wants to buy a car that breaks down often but I have seen some used car sellers who have fixed up a problematic car just enough so they can sell the car and leave the expensive problem (or recurring problem) in the hands of the new unsuspecting owner.

Example, aircon compressor leaking freon but takes a week or two to empty. The seller will add freon to the aircon on the day a potential buyer will check the car and then again on the day the buyer will purchase it. The buyer will only find out the problem after one or two weeks when the freon has run-out of the AC system and leaving him with a repair that will cost him between P12,000 to P20,000 to fix properly.

Another example, on first test drive of an A/T car, shift shock is a little too much to be normal. Seller suggests to have the problem fixed if the potential buyers would come back again. After a week, the seller lets us test the car again. The shift shock is less but still there. And it's still more than what you normally get from even a ten year old A/T car in good condition. I advise my friend not to buy the car because of suspect tranny issues. We walk away. Later we found a similar model car in better condition and no mechanical issues.

Agree... the Sentra is a good choice for a first car. The low resale price is an advantage to the buyer. You get a newer car for the same price as an older honda civic. Parts are not hard to find and the car itself can be dependable as long as good regular maintenance is done.

    * TS, I suggest that if you ever buy a 2nd hand car, yung ikaw yung 2nd owner at hindi 3rd or 4th para mas malaki chances na hindi pa bugbog sa gamit.

take it from them bro... lahat sila tama ang sinabi...cost wise mahal pa rin talaga value ng eg be it hatch or sedan compared sa mga sabayan nitong toyota, mitsu at nissan... pero the hell mas maangas talaga dating ng eg kumpare sa mga kaedad nito na ibang brand... kaya lang the problem lies kung ilang tao na gumamit ng eg makukuha mo.. indeed tru marami parts ang eg sa mga surplus shops dami mods pede gawin yet mahal pa din price nito compared to price ng toyota, mitsu o nissan.

basta huwag ka magmadali.. mas madami choices mas okay... at to be sure maghire ka na ng isang mekaniko kahit sagutin mo na isang araw nya to check yun mga cars na nagugustuhan mo and dapat kilala mo yun seller para may babalikan ka in case
