maam, its easy to determine if 1.5 or 1.6 yung car niyo... lxi is always 1.5 SOHC. the vti is 1.6 SOHC then the SiR is 1.6 DOHC. D and PH is the same thing. yung D ay local name lang for the PH.

yung valve cover is where the honda logo is placed... theres no way na 12 valve engine lang kayo kasi sa EK version... is only the 1.5 or 1.6.

the only way na 12 valve is the D15E which stands for economical. kung palit engine yung car niyo to that, malamang ganda ng FC niyo kasi 12 valve sa low speed then sa high speed its goes to 1500.

    Baliktad po...

"PH" is the local equivalent of the D-series engines. The D15B and D16Y/Z were stamped "PH" because they were manufactured here. All D-series engines are SOHC (except the "ZC"), but not all of them have VTEC. In the case of the EKs released here, the PH15s were non-VTEC but the PH16s had the VTEC cylinder heads.

The EK4 Civic SiR carried a B16A DOHC VTEC engine.
