May 18th, 2009 06:30 PM #1I need your opinion which one is better and have value for money.
I am planning to get the Civic'09 1.8V MT or City'09 1.3S MT.
My previous plan was the Civic'08 1.8S MT but its already run out of stock.
Thanks..

I'd wait for the 1.8 m/t civic, if they still manufacture it. Its the better car.

my guess is that price difference between the two is not an issue. some said/confirmed wih Honda SAs that the 09 MMC Civic FD shall be available May 26. Go for the facelifted FD. it's a notch higher than City, tried and tested throughout the years and it's bigger in size and tech compared to the City.

Civic. I also used the same analogy with the Avanza G vs the Innova J. Always go for the higher car in the hierarchy. Fatter cake over fatter icing...

I suggest you go with the Civic 2009 MMC.
The first one to go out of production on May 26 will be the 2.0 variants.
1.8 V variants will be out early or mid june. So I suggest you place a reservation as early as now because there won't be enough units.
These will be the changes for the Civic 2009 MMC.
-Taffeta White will be available
-Four eyed Quad/Octagonal design tail lights
-Smoked Headlights
-6 Point Floating Front Grille
-TypeR Round Fog Lights (1.8S/2.0S)
-Tail Pipe Finisher (1.8S/2.0S)
-17 inch 10 Spokes Alloy Wheel Design (2.0S)
-Paddle Shifters (1.8S/2.0S) *yes.. its available for the 1.8S
-Black Moquette Interior (1.8V)
-USB equipped (Not confirmed if Ipod compatible or Ipod ready)
Drive Safe!

There are still 08 models availabale. Our company contact from Honda told us that only aesthetics will be changed (exterior, interior and other features for comfortability purposes), but the engine design will be retained, and obviously there will be a price increase
If you're not after the facelifterd version, consider the 08 models, you can haggle bigger discounts from these units.

May 19th, 2009 02:32 AM #8oh lalabas facelift this 26? nice! civic na! not bec. newer/refreshed ha, but yeah bec. it's bigger than the city. i think mas comfortable naman din to over the other. since hindi naman din issue price difference, i guess di rin naman issue gagastusin mo kada pagasolina mo

just the features that promote comfort would be reason enough to get it, if you ask me.
given that this will be a purchase using hard-earned money, be it a one-time, big-time cash purchase or worse, a 3-5 year auto loan, go for the best one out there. panget naman na bili ka ng car now then old model na cia next week... tsk tsk.. sayang naman.. price increase is 30K lang naman. spread it out over a year, nde mo na mararamdaman yun.
Civic MMC pa ren best choice. plus, given na fresh stocks to, you have the option to get what you really want, not something na tira-tira na lang ng iba and you would have to settle for the last stocks/variants available.
ang dami na ring 09 City sa lansangan, and loads more na awaiting deployment.. so nde na ren advantage ung mas konti ang City kesa sa FD.
