A well-designed short ram is the best way to go, from a safety and a power standpoint.
A cold air intake often takes air from the bumper area... which is a problem in floods. It tends to make better midrange, and if it's designed well, will give you some charge-air boosting and resonance tuning, giving more power than a short ram, but generally, it's not worth mucch more than the SRI. A short ram's only problem is heat soak in traffic, which can be minimized by adding a heat shield.

sir niky, what are cons when you have a set-up like this pero wala ppong heat shield .. im using K&N brand and i notice some HP gain and better FC ..

Pros, more intake air, better tubing (at least on the first one), which actually accounts for a lot of the gains in power.
Cons: no heat shield, may feel sluggish in hot traffic. MAF adapter may be altering air reading, causing a dip in power, but if it feels more powerful, then it isn't hurting your MAF, and you can leave it as is.

The MAF is the sensor screwed into the pipe.
Get a cheap Simota heat shield and it'll be perfect.

Yup, that's the MAF. And I don't know specific stores, but I'm sure Blade or Concorde has it.
