April 3rd, 2014 10:44 PM #1Hi everyone I just want to share what I experienced with Honda Shaw.
I own a 2008 Honda Civic FD 1.8 and my current mileage is around 23,000+km. I always do my periodic maintenance even if I don't reach 5000km since I am 'maselan' with my car. But last year I decided to do it elsewhere coz I got disappointed with Honda Shaw. Anyway, my car stalled last February 20 a few km after ko magpa full tank. Since I got stalled at Mandaluyong and it was getting late, naki usap ako sa nagtow dalhin sa Honda Shaw. I thought it was related sa gasoline. The next day, Honda told me it was belt tensioner but nagka damage ang bolt but wala daw stock and waiting time is approximately 2-3 weeks.. fine. I waited patiently.. after 3 weeks wala pa din. I visited my car, wala talaga. Di na ako nagalit since I have a spare car. Finally they texted me nung March 31 na dumating na parts. Then I called April 1 and they told me matatapos ng around 3-4pm but my civic was coding so I told them I will get it Wed morning, my SA told me off nya so sa partner daw nya. Eto na.. nung kukunin ko na.. Nagulat ako bakit may parang paint ng ibang car/gasgas yung rear bumper ko . Sabi nung partner, wala SA ko so tawagan or puntahan ko daw today. Super busy ko kinuha ko na inisip ko papa rubbing compound ko na lang. Pag alis ko napansin ko na more than 1/4 ang nabawas sa gas ko eh tumirik nga ako pagka gas ko so panu nabawasan??? Then ugali ko mag reset ng odometer every time I gas up to check my fc.. nasa 40km so sure ako ginamit ang car ko. I texted Honda shaw kasi sinasabihan ako mga kapatid ko useless daw awayin ko but no one from Honda shaw, not even my SA bothered to call.

May nagpost sa Honda Club PH around 2-3 months ago, same case, same problem.

a few years back, service advisor Allan Mendoza tried to pull a fast one on me. i don't know if he's still connected with honda shaw. nag-double entry ito ng isang part sa cr-v. napansin ko 'yung kalokohang ginawa niya at ipinaayos ko ang computation. it took me a lunch break of around 3 hours to wait for him to correct the computation and to release the car. he does not follow instructions, too. naisip ko tuloy na 'yung ibang mga piyesang pinalitan niya ay hindi naman talaga kailangang palitan. the serivce advisor is Allan Mendoza of honda shaw.

April 4th, 2014 12:28 PM #5Honda Makati is Ayala owned as well right? If it is, then people should really start avoiding them.
I had my FD's bumper replaced there because of the insurance company. Everything came out fine however, the adapter nut for my mags was stolen. Buti na lang I could still find a replacement part.

My brother's CRV had an overheating problem...
The service adviser at Honda Shaw recommended a list of parts to replace, which includes the following:
- water pump
- radiator
- upper radiator hose
- lower radiator hose
- thermostat
- cooling fan motor
- radiator cap
And a host of other minor stuff as well. Basically, they are commending to change the ENTIRE cooling system to fix the car's overheating problem. My brother didn't agree and had his car brought over to another (nearby) service shop where they replaced a single rubber water by-pass hose (not listed in Honda's extensive list of parts to replace) and the other heating problem was solved!! In the end, my brother just paid a small fraction of the amount compared to what Honda Shaw tried to scam him. That was the last time he had his car serviced there. Too bad for Honda Shaw because he was once a very loyal customer too.

Honda customers also had their share of horror stories with Honda Alabang. There's a separate thread about it. It's not the brand or owner's fault but the bad service of the SA's and mechanics within the dealership which goes unchecked.

April 4th, 2014 07:03 PM #9Yes, Hindi po talaga masyado gamit kasi may spare car po ako and I drive around the vicinity lang. Napilitan ko na po Yun last year sa speedy fix pati po engine mount. First time ko po last year di sa casa nagpagawa. Nainis din po kasi ako sa shaw dati kasi nung under warranty pa pinapalit cabin filter ko and etc kasi due na kahit super baba mileage ko. 3-4t km/ year lang po average na tinatakbo ko mas nagamit ko lang last year pero di pa din lagpas 5t hehe
