B16a VTEC FAIL

hello po mga sir! hope you're all having a great time>

my prob po kasi oto ko; its a 2000 SiR with a B16a engine.
actually kakukuha ko lang po recently ung oto from a friend of my cousin.
the problem now is when i reach that predetermined RPM (usually hanggan 5K) di po ngbubukas ung VTEC nya. HELP po in this problem.

also,pag nsa highway ako n medyo mabilis ang hataw, nagj-jerk ung oto na parang nawawala ung power, tpos bigla2 po ulit bumabalik.

di ko po matanong dating my ari kasi nsa states na po cya. ask ko po sana opinions nyo before ko i-punta sa talyer.

I think hindi predetermined ang pag kick ng VTEC maraming factor kung kelan sya magkikick like throttle position, oil pressure, etc. Sa akin hindi usually 5K somewhere 5.8K rpm ata sya usually nagkikick.

As for the hesitation pag nagaaccelerate ka baka wala sa timing yung engine, you can have it checked with a timing gun.

Wait ka pa ng ibang suggestion maraming experts dito

wala ba check engine? try to tap a LED light sa vtec solenoid para malaman talaga kung gumagana o hindi. try mo i-hataw hangang 7000 rpm, kung wala pa rin baka sira yung sliding pin.

as for the jerking, medyo marami pwede culprit yan eh. from oil pressure to timing... pacheck sa mechanic na lang kung loosing power pa rin at high speeds.

question vtec owners, i'm just curious..paano ba malalaman pag nag kick na yung VTEC? may indicator ba or lalakas ng husto hatak or what? sorry for this question..i'm just really curious because i haven't handled a vtec yet..

seat of the pants feel.. mararamdaman mo pagsipa ng vtec sa acceleration.. other than that... there is no other indicator like a VTEC ON light...

try mo muna painitin ang makina.... minsan hindi naputok ang vtec pag hindi mainit ang makina....

thanks po sa mga comments mga sir. really appreciate all of them. i'll try to rev it up to 7000rpm when i go to Dagupan City next week. hirap po kasi paabuting dun minsan, by the time i reach 5000-6000 rpm, my sasakyan na po sa harap ko.hehehe

pareho tayo ng problem ser....ganon din ang akin...ndi nag kkick in ang vtec...d ko rin kc napapansin sa tunog ng kotse...

ung akin ser walang walang ilaw ung check engine...ano po ba indication non?? may kinalaman po sa vtec un?
