January 13th, 2012 03:52 PM #1Hi guys. I'm a newbie when it comes to cars. Last December 2011 I purchased my first 2nd hand car Honda City 97 EXI (102T Mileage). Na drive ko na siya for 500km already at tingen ko wala naman problema but it seems the car is not so well maintained so I would like to bring the car in auto shop to thoroughly inspect for the peace of my mind.
I would just like to know kung meron kayong alam or pwedeng i-refer na shop na marunong (at hinde mataas maningil) mag check-up ng old honda cars preferably Manila area since wala po akong budget for Casa PMS.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Sir, if you say that you had your car checked at Honda Manila and had its oil changed there, then I believe that all the important parts (fluids, suspension, engine) have been inspected by the casa mechanics. For further peace of mind, but i believe this will entail bigger cost, have all the fluids replaced with OEM honda fluids and follow the regular maintenance schedule indicated in the manual.

January 16th, 2012 11:32 AM #3Hi Sir,
Thanks for the reply. Last time nag punta ako sa Honda Manila, estimate nila is 15k+ for the full maintenance check-up (labor only). Very straight-forward naman ung nakausap kong SA, sabi niya maghanda na ako ng malaking pera for the parts para hinde masayang ung ibabayad ko kung ipapa check lang.
Thanks

Hmm for 15k, that's kinda' pricey for labor only. I think sir kasama na yung gamit dyan for the 'standard preventive maintenance' for your mileage like synthetic oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, etc. Yung sinasabi siguro ni SA na malaking pera is if meron silang makita na ibang parts na sira which are not covered by the standard checkup procedure. To be sure, pwede mo i outline dito sir kung ano yung mga sinabi ng SA na included sa 15k? usually kasi may binibigay silang checklist pag ganyan. FYI, the most that I had to spend on my car's maintenance at Honda is P6,700.00. That was for my 40k kms checkup on my 2009 City. that included Engine Detailing by the way.
If you want, marami rin naman reputable shops na pwede ninyo pagdalhan ng car ninyo. Alot of our brothers here go to speedyfix for Changeoil and tune up work. Cruven naman for suspension. I heard ok naman gawa nila dun.

Sir since taga Cavite pala kayo, I would suggest huwag nang lumayo. -- LACAS Motorworks, Villa Amparo Subd. Bayan Luma 4, Imus Cavite -- front of Robinson Imus, ~30meters papasok from 7 Eleven store sa kanto... Alaga nila ang CRV ko. Mang Larry used to be one of Honda Ayala group chief SA, and lahat ng tao nila doon was former Honda SA's too.

Honda mechanics ang mga gagawa as in nakauniform pa sila.
