The paddle shifters in the vx add a whole dimension of fun driving to the car. Gotta experience it to know how good it is to drive with the paddle shifters giving you control.

I am about to purchase the new Honda Jazz. This is the first time I will buy a brand new car, because my first car was a second hand.

I have a couple of questions that I believe you can help me on. I'm not really an expert on cars, so i'd appreciate your inputs:

1. Should I buy the base automatic model (1.5 V CVT) or the mid-tier automatic model (1.5 VX CVT)? The base model is 818000 and the next one is 918000. So it's 100,000 difference. Ang pagkakaiba is yung VX model is yung design nya sa front with the letter H honda, eh shiny black plastic and my chrome trim underneath, pero don sa V is flat matte black and walang chrome trim. Tapos, yung VX is may touch screen (I am still thinking kung worth it ba may touch screen ako sa kotse). Naiisip ko na baka mas ok ung base model na lang, tutal may bluetooth and handsfree naman un, and besides, it has the same 1.5 engine.

2. Should I go with white color or red? Ano kaya mas maporma. I really like the yellow one kaso nasa 918000 sya.

3. If I finally have decided to go for the base model, palalagyan ko sana ng chrome trim sa car shop ung sa front nya, tapos, ung matte black plastic sa H logo, papakulayan ko ng shiny piano black na color para katulad na nya yung itsura ng VX model. Magkano kaya magagastos ko sa ganon?

1. Tingin ko mas better check mo ung budget. If kaya why not opt for the higher model

2. Kung hindi ka magpapaganda Red na lang. Pero kung balak mo pormahan go with white. Para sa akin lang yan hehe

I have a red CVT V. tagal ko ding pinag-isipan yung V vs VX pero at the end of the day namayani ang practical side ko. laki din ng 100k saka yun nga with that amount i could go for a compact na (like Altis). first time car owner ako so hindi naman ako familiar sa paddle shifter and not too keen on the touchscreen HU. as it is, im happy with my unit. may mga plans din ako padagdag pero ewan if matutuloy. so far yung deep dish mat pa lang nabibili ko. siguro sunod yung cargo tray.

How about yung GPS ng celfone, like WAZE? Doesn't it do the same thing? I could be wrong.


As for the rear view camera, guro what I can do is to just purchase a rear view camera na yung head unit can be the same as the rear view mirror.

waze doesn't offer offline map navigation. not all people are luxurious enough to afford data plans

Hi Honza,

(1) If budget is no issue then go with the VX. Makukuha mo pa yung gusto mo na Yellow. Although, tama din naman yung opinion nila na malaki ang matitipid sa 100,000 and you can use it to para sa mga add-ons. Please do note, na pag may mga dinagdag/binago ka dun sa V model, it may void your warranty (like electricals etc)

(2) If settling for the V model, color depends siguro kung what type of person you are at kung ano mga activities mo. Depending kung ano idadagdag mo sa V model, checkout mga pictures sa FB or internet kung saan ka mas nagagandahan pag pinormahan na ang Jazz, whether white or red...personally, I'd go with the white one. Mas pansin lang siguro ang porma pag sa white, but it depends sa tumitingin yan haha!

(3) This is why I will go for the VX (anyway, VX yung Jazz ko), kung plano mo i-gaya yung base model sa VX, then why not just settle for the VX? Yes 100k is 100k, pero at least andyan na yung mga gusto mong piyesa, no need to shop for add-ons. Minsan effort din naman yung pag punta punta sa mga auto shop para magpakabit ng mga accessories etc. Kung car enthusiast ka naman and you have the time, then no problem. Ako, yung VX ko pinalagyan ko na din ng Mugen RS wing, leather seat cover and paint protection...ganun talaga siguro. Magastos hahaa.

Ako VX pinili ko medyo malaki nga ung 100k pero di pa naman kasi ako expert sa modification and wala rin masyado extra time tska para wala na ako iintindihin, sasakyan ko na lang ung unit. Amd gumastos na rin naman ako kunin ko na ung unit na di gusto ko

You can use it in D if you want to 'downshift'. Just click it. Try it. It will switch back to automatic mode after a few seconds.

Hindi rin yata niya kabisado kaya di nasabi sakin and kahapon ko lang napansin na nagbabago pala color ng sa speedometer kala ko kapag masyado maaga ung shift mo ng paddle shift kya nagbabago yung color.

So pano ko ba malalaman kung pwede nako magshift ng gear sa paddle shift kapag naka D mode since automatic na di ba kapah D mode? Pano ko malalaman na tama shift ko kasi nawawala ung number compared kapag S mode

Hindi rin yata niya kabisado kaya di nasabi sakin and kahapon ko lang napansin na nagbabago pala color ng sa speedometer kala ko kapag masyado maaga ung shift mo ng paddle shift kya nagbabago yung color.

no need to use paddle shifters sa D mode, pero you can use them nga momentarily then the engine will revert back to automatic D mode.

pang S mode lang talaga ang paddle shifters. up to now di ko pa rin nagamit S mode kahit SLEX daily drive ko. di ko gusto tunog ng engine revving sa S mode. parang napupuwersa sya. or hindi lang ako marunong gumamit ng paddle shifts hehe.

finally jazz happened to me lol. nung saturday nakuha na namin yung Jazz V CVT red. tapos nasabak agad sa ulan haha!

question ko lang po kasi pag uwi namin napansin ng father ko na nag moist/foggy yung headlights, normal po ba yun? or kailangan ipaayos ko yun? saka nung nakauwi na kami saka ko lang napansin na medyo may crack yung goma dun sa may tail gate sa ilalim na side parang tapat dun sa may lock mismo.., ok lang po ba yun or may effect ba yun?

pero nung nakuha naman namin yung kotse sa dealer ang sabi hindi na daw kailangan i break in, dahil nagawa na daw yun sa planta?? alin po ba talaga? 1st time car owner po kasi so yung advise po nyo ay makakatulong talaga

ilang beses ko na sinubukan yung 80kph lang na takbo kaso hindi ko natutuloy. ang hirap kasi mag-maintain esp sa SLEX. dami na bumubusina sa likod. saka minsan parang ang bagal ng 80kph.
