Good day po sa lahat tsikot members, hingi lang po sana ako ng advise at information about Honda Sir. I'm planning to buy my 1st car, medyo matagal napag ipunan kaya gusto ko sana sulit naman. Tulad po ng engine type, color of the car, interior at exterior? Tsaka ano po ba advantage at disadvantage ng Sir sa ibang Honda? How about Fuel Consumption, Power, Maintenace at Availability ng parts? Cheaper po ba or medyo mataas compare sa iba?
Pasensya na po kung marami katanungan.
Hintayin ko po mga replies niyo, ngayon pa lang po
nagpapasalamat na ako sa inyo at sa TSIKOT.
    Mabuhay!!!!hehehehe

The Honda Civic SiR is a good car .... when it came out back in the late 1990s. It has the most powerful engines for a 1.6L car in the local market. It also had uprated suspension and brakes to make the rest of the car keep up with the engine's performance.

But today it's already a ten year old car with the same problems of ten year old cars like mechanical wear and tear.

The last problem for a 2nd hand car buyer (who is obviously on a budget to buy a car) is that the SiR is priced higher due to "demand".

Civic SiR stock colors are black, white and "passion" orange.

    So what is your budget?

may formula red and sunburst yellow din na SiR. eto ata yung mga last releases, im not sure kung may tweeter yung mga nauna pero yung red and yellow ata may tweeter na.

yup, problema sa SiR is ang taas ng presyo para sa age ng car due to demand. tapos marami pa diyan is yung nalaro na tapos binalik lang sa stock.

SiR? for a first timer, i would not recommend this car. as the previous post already said about the wear and tear of a 10 year old car. kung ganyan ang budget, im assuming mga 350k-400k yung budget.

go for altis na lang makakakuha ka ng around that price range na 04-05 model (J or E variant). mas sulit ito IMO kasi mas bago and konti lang modified na ganto nakikita ko. mostly are stock with rims and aesthetics lang. no harm done to the engine.

If you're looking for excitement, and nothing else, there's nothing wrong with an SiR, as long as you get a fresh one.

But getting a "fresh" one is going to be damned difficult nowadays. Whatever you pay for the car, it's best to reserve another 50k pesos for things like a brake overhaul, minor body repairs, detailing, shock and spring replacement, total bushing replacement... hmmm... clutch master and brake master... possibly alternator and aircon compressor... but those are a given, already... Hmmm... better make that 50-100k. Of course, you don't have to spend it all at once, but you'll need to be prepared to spend some of it each time something breaks.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    It really depends.

The old Corollas, the ones from 1989 up to 2000... are cheap as chips to maintain, and parts are everywhere.

The 2001 and up Corolla Altis isn't. I have a cousin with one, and he has a harder time finding parts for it than I do for the Lynx. That's because I know Banawe and he doesn't, actually... but the fact is, parts for the new Altis are not as cheap as parts for the old Corolla, and they're not as common.

It's a good car, but I'm tired of hearing every Tom, Dick and Harry claim that it's "easy to maintain" just because it's a Toyota.

Just try replacing a CV Joint sometime... you'll see.

If you want a car that's easy to maintain and nice to dress up, a pre-2000 Civic VTi or Corolla Lovelife will do... or even the 1998 Nissan Sentra (not the Exalta... the 98-2000 Exalta uses many Taiwanese components, compared to the all-Japanese build of the 98 Sentra)... and all of these cars have much cheaper and more easily available parts than the 2000 and up Civic and Corolla.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
