I need some advice from the experts. I want to buy a 2nd hand City ESi(highest year 1998). Since I'm looking for a 2nd hand, is it more advisable to buy M/T over A/T with regards to engine/transmission condition? Marami pa kaya akong pagagawa after purchase? What are the risks involved? Also, can you tell me what's the best prices. ( duhh...)

Always allot around 20-30k for misc repairs.

Durability and performance will also depend on the previous owner kung maalaga sa maintenance, etc.

City EXi ata yung rinerefer mo, kasi walang ESi na variant ang City (sa Civic lang meron).

go for MT in prices like 180K-275K depende sa condition ng auto.

i choose MT because i cannot figure out easily if the transmission is busted or not on an AT. and mahal ang maintenance ng Automatic transmission. other than ok saken ang AT as long as ok ang condition ng buong auto.

para sa akin, manual para in case na mag ka problem ka, mura lang ang manual pa repair. pero kung maayus at kilala mo naman ang bibilhan mo ng matic. ok na din matic. depende sainyo yan kung ano mas prefer nyong "driving style"

If you are not a keen observer, you might as well settle for the m/t, easy to maintain and spare parts are more cheaper than an a/t. If you prefer an a/t, then might as well have your trusted mechanic take a good look at the car you are interested in, it better to be safe than sorry latter on. Good luck.

recently bought a second hand car and i chose an A/T instead of an M/T for driving convenience lalo pa pag laging ma-traffic sa dinadaanan mo.

why not save up a little bit and get a higher model? imo, it will save you a lot of headache from repair/maintenance costs in the long run since mas bago. although meron pa ding mga bago na poorly maintained.

2nd hand Manual or Automatic
