    IMO, from a manufacturer's standpoint...

MPVs and Crossovers which are based on a common platform (like the Mobilio and BR-V / current gen Avanza and Rush) are basically the same cars. pero the SUV version has a higher selling price.

So they make more money from the same car.

Brio - Mobilio - BR-V share the same platform, Mobilio and BR-V uses the same powertrain of the City.

Imagine how much more money Honda makes every time a buyer decides to get a BR-V

true, i recall when it was launched, naisip ko mas ok BRV being the same car with better looks and package.
i'm wondering though how this still works for Mitsu's Expander Cross and Suzuki Ertiga's XL7.

Ive seen a 1st gen Brio with a Mobilio's front. Interesting to see if someone makes a project Brio turning it into a mini BRV.

IMO, the Cross is better equipped compared to the GLS

However, (my personal opinion) the GLS looks better

    opinion ko,
    "they never left".

some car brands use 3 spokes for their more basic models, and 4 spokes in their higher end models.

Honda starts 2022 BR-V export; 1 unit already in PH | Autoindustriya

Interestingly enough, we were also able to get a copy of the list of vehicles imported from Indonesia recently, and it seems Honda Cars Philippines brought in 1 unit of the all-new BR-V. The vehicle, based on the info we got, is an all-new BR-V S variant; in the Honda model range, that's usually the base model. Actually, the transmission is also indicated: it's a manual gearbox model and not the CVT model.

We presume it's for local testing because no automaker outside of the luxury sector brings in just one unit in a shipment. Such a unit is also an indicator that Honda is preparing for the introduction of the model in the Philippines soon, but we would venture a guess that it will be sometime in May or June at the earliest as Honda is slated to launch the HR-V in April.

Came across some indonesian YT reviews on the 2022 BR-V. Visually bigger and wider than the previous model. No awkward Brio/Mobilio mashup and no more ugly kink. Properly looks like it was designed as a crossover.

TOTL BR-V Prestige with Honda Sensing is roughly 1.25M converted from Indonesia. If they can price it similarly, at least below 1.3M for the Sensing and 1.1M for the base, this could be the car to revitalize HCPI's lineup. Also getting close to the gen2 AUV CR-V 10 seater in size.

    BR-V gen2
    4,490 x 1,780 x 1,685

    CR-V gen2
    4,535 x 1,785 x 1,780

"Talikogenic" na din ba ang bagong BR-V?

Personally, that's what bugs me about the 1st Gen. Ok sa harap at sa tagiliran, but the back view leaves a lot to be desired.
