I was told by SA that I needed to come back to have fuel filter replaced otherwise my warranty might be affected. I blew my top when he said that because I took a leave just to have the PMS done...told him that it wasnÂ’t my fault the fuel filter was out of stock and that they should come to me to get it installed. Eventually he agreed to send people to my home to have fuel filter installed.
Whoah...that's how much Honda PMS goes for these days?[emoji44]

Yes. Wait for the 30k, 40k.... Basically the even numbers. But at least just twice a year.

Unfortunately, yes. Honda does not take actual distance driven into consideration (actual distance driven of my vehicle was about 6k km although the PMS was for 20k km/12 mos). I checked the diesel vs gas CRV cost of ownership computation done by ************ last Feb. 2018. They were spot on with the PMS cost:12 mos P15,575.62: 24 mos P16,760.62, 36 mos. P19,310.10.

All in the guise of keeping warranty? Don't you feel being taken hostage by your own purchase?

Definitely. But as with my practiced I'm out of there in one year or max of 1.5 years just to make sure parts are working and need not replaced.

What motor oil do you plan to use post-casa? I don’t see any 0w16 oil in the market at the moment.

I still don't know but based on manual, 0w-30 viscosity is recommended.

We’re all hostages whenever we buy a new vehicle. It is unfortunate that Honda chooses to gouge its customers: P881 for an oil filter, over P2k for an air filter, P600 for Brake Squeal (it’s a 29ml bottle, about as big as a shampoo bottle from a hotel; you only put a few drops behind the brake pads...one bottle could probably be used on half a dozen cars or more).

Both the 1.6 turbo diesel and the 9-speed AT are unproven commodities in Asia so despite the high maintenance cost from the casa, I think it would still be prudent to maintain the warranty.

I asked them to give me the left over bottle of brake squeal. It was still almost full. Plan to use it on my other cars.
