o, what's with the wipers?
Opposing wiper design is the best.
2006 palang ganyan na yung wiper ng Civic.
isa123: Parang yan lang din yung latest Euro Type R..

AFAIK wala.
Pero IMHO best design yan. Full coverage ng windshield.
Tsaka pangit ba?

Well I never liked the styling of the 01-08 Altis but I really like the current one. It ages better.
Nope it's not universally the best design. It only has the most coverage in cars with a very big (height-wise) windshield, like the Civic and minivans. Why? Because the length of the wiper blade, which is dictated by the shorter of the two dimensions (height and width) of the windshield, is already almost as long as the longer of the two dimensions. This is due to the square-ish nature of the Civic's/minivans' windshields.
Try an opposed wiper system in a sports car, say, the Genesis Coupe, and you'll find yourself a very big inverted triangle caused by the gap between the two blades in the middle.
What works best in cars that have less square-ish windshields are still the tandem wipers (both blades pointing at one direction). The downside of this is that it has quite a significant unwiped area on the upper right of the windshield (in a LHD car). However, Mercedes has made its way around that by making their 2nd blade actually extend outward during its wipe cycle so that it covers even more distance.
So IMHO the best config is the tandem system of Mercedes-Benz. Not sure what other companies use this but BMW's newer models seem to have the same as well.

Since you got this 2nd hand, its a good idea to change the drive belt (its cheap anyway). Also...
