December 7th, 2010 03:07 PM #1May thread na ba ragarding this?
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

pwede yan!
advantage:
less gas consumption
bibilis yung crv
disadvantage:
wala na real time 4x4
para sakin, ill do it. kahit real time yan, umiikot pa rin propeller that draws out power. kung wala propeller, lahat ng power nasa FWD.

December 8th, 2010 09:58 PM #5Magkano inabot nung surplus?
Nasubukan ko kanina na i-drive without the propeller shaft. Back to real time 4WD.

it's already FWD... you'd be surprised how rarely the 4wd mechanism kicks in.
and it's not a locked 4wd system or something like a subaru's system. so apart from 6 kilos or so of additional weight, the 4wd mechanism doesn't have a performance penalty on the car on normal, paved highway driving.
as for removing the mechanism... my opinion is that it's always better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. you never know, maybe you'll need the thing in the future.
