Turn left or kung saan mang flow yung nag go para di ka na makaharang. Di ka pa mahuhuli. Ikot ka nga lang. Ang dapat mo atang violation ay obstruction imbis na reckless. Hindi pa naman kasi red nung nag cross ka.

    personally,
lovely the forever ban may be,
i personally think it is too severe.
suspension lang + required attendance to driving class and alcoholics anonymous enrollment.
    in my opinion.

Just to get this out of the way.... I am for stringent and tough penalties for traffic violators. What I am worried about is the seemingly arbitrary penalties being dished out by the current DOTr Secretary.

He's like Oprah... "You get a 90-day suspension!" "You get a lifetime ban!"

There ought to be solid guidelines where a violation (or class of violations) can be traced back to a specific rule or law, along with its penalties. It's very knee-jerk reaction kasi, at least from my subjective perception. Paano kung bago na ang DOTr Sec. and he/she turns out to be more lenient?

... if this is not the case, please educate me.

    i agree.
i believe there are current laws. perusing the LTO portal, i read that first-time non-pro offenders may get a 12 month suspension.
but i am curious, i haven't heard from the offending driver's side...

and what about skyway? isn't this not the first time that a motorista drove the wrong way? perhaps they should re-think some of their architectural designs...

I agree that there seems to be arbitrariness to it all.

^He's making a good image to the people. Mabilis magtrabaho, action man. But you're right about the arbitrary nature of his pronouncements. Maybe he should put more legal basis on his decisions.

I believe that this wrong-way driver made a U-turn on an on-ramp. If you look at on-ramps, I think it's pretty self-explanatory how it works. If the driver made a conscious decision to make a U-turn, against all conventions of road use, it's really on the driver.

Remember meron din SUV that entered the Carousel Bus lane going in the wrong direction and came face to face with a bus? Akala daw nya U-turn slot.

Most, if not all of these cases have been attributed to DUI.
